I just heard that this will affect National Parks, among a lot of other things. My brother and SIL just left yesterday for a week at the Grand Canyon.

I wonder where one goes to actually get the real news? It seems most news stations have their own agenda and will report in a way that fits that agenda.

X2! Going back to the Senate now with included Govt. funding through Oct. 15th and a year delay on Obamacare. Senate states it's doa. Now who's shutting the government down?

That was the House, next to the left-wing Senate... We are at a (thankfully) private CG outside Acadia National Park - dunno what they will do with the folks camping within the Park. TV News reported a meeting will be held with Park Employees to explain the shutdown. We'll take out last ride on the Park Loop today and a Park Carriage Ride tomorrow...

We are getting ready to head out on our fall trip which would include a stop at Bryce since we haven't been there is about 10 years. Now, thinking about alternatives.

We have many friends who depend on tourism in Estes Park. After the flood they are really hurting. Now, Rocky Mountain National Park will possibly close. If this shutdown is protracted it will possibly bankrupt some of our friends.

I don't want to turn this into a political discussion of right versus left. There is plenty of blame to go around. All of those rich fat cat idiots in Washington should be run out of office. They don't care about the American people. They only care about being elected to another term and lining there pockets with our money. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
