Looking for recommendations for PA state parks near the NYS border. Would prefer to stay away from the gas drilling if possible. Quiet spots preferred.

Ditto that. Its COE. The same folks run Cowanesque a bit north and within yards of the NY border just off of Rt 15.

I wouldn't worry about drilling. All the noise is from the media not the drilling.

I second Promised Land State Park- Pickerel Point has full hook-ups and relatively flat sites, the other areas have varying degrees of hookups. Little Falls trail is lovely if you like to hike. There are lake beaches, kayaks to rent, fishing, wildlife viewing (we saw a bald eagle and mama bear with two cubs last week) and nice hiking trails. It is our "go to" park- our rate last week was $27 a night.

Promised Land State Park is located in the northeast part of the state in on a nice size lake and has 4 campgrounds. Some have no hookups, some have electric and some have full hookups.Pickeral Point is located on a pinnisula and has 3 new bath houses and a small beach.Other state parks in the vicinity are Francis Slocum and Locust Lake.As mentioned,Rickett's Glen is nice but no hookups. They have a lake and a nice trail with 13 waterfalls.

Near Wellsboro sounds good - I would most likely be taking Rt. 15 South from Naples area.
Thanks.
I did get comments from someone last year about transient gas workers coming into the state park to use shower facilities. They were not too pleased so I avoided it last year.

I am not aware of any PA state parks near gas drilling. That situation is mostly media hype.

Leonard Harrison State Park near Wellsboro. We stayed in a private CG when we were in the area, but would try for the state park if we went back.

We had a great bike ride on the rail trail at the bottom of the canyon.

Could you be a little more specific as to where you want to camp along the NY/PA border?
