We really liked American Heritage, but I agree that it is pretty tight for big rigs.

We stayed at Millersylvania State Park with our 40' motorhome.

We've stayed at American Heritage once...not again. Roads within the park do not provide sufficient width for large motor homes. In addition, overhanging tree limbs try to remove your AC units. It seems I remember one spot at the very front of the park where a large MH could be backed into with having to traverse the interior roads. I'll check on that one.

Haven's stayed at Olympia park, but reviews indicate it might be worse than American Heritage for maneuverability.

I'll investigate Little Creek Casino.

Thanks to all...really appreciate it.

Try American Heritage or Olympia campground. They are right off the freeway.

There is Dash Point State Park just outside Tacoma. Very nice. If you're interested in a little gambling, Little Creek Casino about 15 miles NE of Olympia has a nice full hookup park.

My favorite site in the area is Rest-A-While RV on highway 101. Don't know if it is close enough, but it is quiet just off the highway, and absolutely beautiful.

While others may disagree, there are really no good RV parks in the Tacoma area. Olympia has a few and they are reviewed here: RV Park Reviews: Olympia, WA Midway RV park in Centralia is a good one, too, but further from Tacoma.
