Would like advice on the best campground to stay at in St. George and what to expect for weather in February/March.

Also, would Cedar City be a better choice since it is not as large.

Temple View is almost as packed as a sardine can. On the plus side staff is helpful.

Willow Wind in Hurricane is cleaner, paved streets, concrete pads, lots of mature trees for shade if youโ€™re going in the summer.

We stayed there last year (2018).

I live in St George and will stay in Snow Canyon (15 miles from home) when I get the chance. I also love Sand Hollow, but it is often booked by the Jeep crowd - Westside is the nice campground there. Quail Lake SP is pretty, no hook-ups and many sites are unlevel.

For commercial - Temple View is in town and very popular with the snowbird set. Over in Hurricane I like Willowind. The KOA is within site/sound of Interstate 15.

I would not risk Cedar City until April, as they're at 5,000' and could still be getting snow.

Best regards,
Chris

In July? Maybe. But hardly in the February/March timeframe requested by the original poster. And that's coming from a Utah resident.

Was May 3rd but yeah not when OP will be there.

Stayed in St. George once. It was 99 degrees at 2AM and slept with the AC full blast all night long after taking a hot shower with cold water that had been warming all day long on the drive in.

Never again, pushing on to Cedar City next time as it was beautiful on the return trip.

We loved Snow Canyon State Park right outside of St. George, which we visited in November -- video here: https://youtu.be/Ae-XLFXVdk4. Many sites have electric/water and there's a community RV dump on the loop. Be careful of which site you choose, however, for 1-14 are insanely close together. We had 15A (W/E site) which is incredibly spacious. Realize that Cedar City is quite a bit higher in elevation, and therefore much colder and more prone to snow.

And if you prefer to boondock there are great spots near Virgin: https://youtu.be/O_CeDJtVs0s

X2. Nice views from the higher sites. I had a pull thru on the west side of the north loop.

I havenโ€™t tried including an image in a long time but Iโ€™ll give it a try.

Can't help with a CG, but St. George would be quite a bit warmer than Cedar City. Like 10 degrees or so. Also, much less chance of snow in St. George.

A bit up the hill, but Hurrican/St.George KOA is beautiful. Stayed twice and plan to return.

Be prepared for Anything - Could be Shorts and T's to 12"s of Snow - Great place to be in February and March.:B

Been there and hiked one day in shorts and Had a Sunset the next night with 8"s of Snow - Just the Best!

Best of Luck,

Sorry but I've never gone anywhere for the CG.....
