Where's everyone going for Memorial weekend?

We're from Michigan, both of us work and we have 3 kids from 14 to 8. I'll admit that our geographical location has turned us into great lake snobs. Lake Erie is our least favorite, but we're going to give it a fair shot over Memorial weekend.

We're going to Maumee Bay state park in Ohio on Lake Erie. Hopefully do the drive through safari close by.
It's been ridiculously cold so probably won't be able to swim, but Erie is shallow so we'll see how it goes.

Where's everyone else going?

I'm so surprised how many people say they stay home on holiday weekends. No way !! We are from Pa and travel to Lancaster county every holiday weekend. Only 30 min away from our home. Very easy traveling among the horse and buggies !!

X2 on Lancaster. Taking mom and dad along to hit Sight and Sound then general sight seeing.

That's exactly what we did last week. If you catch the early show, don't forget to hit the buffet place next door for dinner; well worth it. Enjoy!

The 29th should be a good day to check into a CG. Everyone will be headed home. By evening the place should be about empty. AHHHHHHH!!

Nowhere, why should we get mixed up in that insanity? We're retired. We'll leave for a boondocking trip Tuesday morning after the drunks are locked up. Looking at Hat Springs west of Saguche, Colorado.

We always avoid holiday weekends. Too many crazies on the roads.
So we will head out early in the week, and spend a few days at our second home in the mountains, returning home after the holiday ends.

We normally would not be heading out for Memorial Day, but our very good friends are taking the plunge and purchased a camper. We will be joining them for their shakedown trip. We are going someplace that is not necessarily a 'destination' for the holiday. Very excited about sharing our hobby with our friends. Life is good.

Enjoy yourselves whatever you do! God bless America!

For the first time in 10 years we will not be on the road with the 5er that weekend. This year we stay right home here in Bermuda.

Every day over the weekend I will be working, sort of. The Americas Cup 35 is here in Bermuda & starts on May 26th. I have about 25 full duty days between May 26th & June 30th running one of the spectator marshal boats. No idea how much this is being looked forward to & I am not a sailor. Clicky Get better than front row position to view the racing & burn somebody else's gas. How good is that?

Always SMH when these threads come up because half of those who post remind us that they don't go anywhere on holiday weekends. Not exactly the point of the thread, but I guess some people just feel like they always have to put in their 2 cents.

We are going to Disney that weekend. Yes it'll be crowded, but it'll just be us 2 grown ups and leave the kids with someone else.

All due respect the OP worded the thread to sound as if ALL plans were welcome with no exclusionary exceptions:).
As life stages evolve you can decide to celebrate holiday weekends in other manners - your plans are a perfect example since I'm sure vaccing @ Disney w/o the kiddos is something you'd never think to do at other times.

When I choose to stay at home during holiday weekends it's to visit locales in my city that are not as well known to the average tourist.

Yep... leave the holidays for the working stiffs to battle over. We are going to be out for 8 days in May, but coming home a week before Memorial Day.

No camping trip for us that weekend. However we are going to GeoWoodstock in Waynesville, NC. My aunt and uncle live close enough by that we are staying with them and making the short drive to the event.

GeoWoodstock is a yearly get together of geocachers.
