I would look at a Nu-wa Hitchhiker from Chanute, Kansas that has been refurbished. The benefit is that it was the factory location. They fix them up before resale, so you can avoid some of the difficulties of buying something older and buy with relative confidence. Alpenlite was a good brand. Northwood (Arctic Fox) also had some good units, but not as much a full-time rig as the Nu-wa.

My pick hands down for 1990's model 5th wheel would be the Carriage 5th wheels or if you can find one that an owner would even sell, a Royals International for true quality, luxury, and beyond!
A superb CC LB 4X4, GM HD Diesel, airbags, Rancho's, lots more

We bought a 2003 Holiday Rambler Alumascape a year ago and we love it! We heard the "older" Holiday Ramblers were made better... ๐Ÿ™‚

Had a 2000 King of the Road and loved it. All the units you list are good units just be sure to look them over close, look for water damage, maybe have a rv tech check it out first before handing over any $$$. Good luck in your search.

I owned a couple of Alpenlites and dollar for dollar one of the best fivers I ever owned. Liked them better than the Excel I now have and it is a great unit. Take a look at them and you may find they fit your needs.
Good Luck

We bought a old 86 (I know a little older than you are looking) and did some repairs, other than being small (28' no slides) I really loved that lady!!!

Nash and Arctic Fox (both built by Northwood) seem to get good reports all around. I've owned neither but I'm going to look at a used Nash this weekend. They build their own frames, very heavy duty intended for dirt-road use, and are 4-season rated.

Not sure where you're located, but if near Kansas I'd strongly recommend looking at the NuWa factory/service center in Chanute. We just picked up a 2005 Discover America there. As the manufacturers they are familiar with NuWa, they went through the unit and appear to have replaced many items (slide rubber, step box, awning, toilet, pin box, etc). Though not new, we are very comfortable the unit we took home is in good shape.

Besides, the people there are very nice to work with and gave us a good trade on our previous TT. I know they carry other brands than NuWa as well, but obviously they specialize in NuWa.

Good luck in your search, you seem to have narrowed down the list to higher end units that should serve you well as long as they were cared for by the previous owner.

I have a 1996 38ft Nuwa Hitchhicker Champagne Edition w/ 3 slides, and I love it but am actually selling it. It has all the amenities you could ever ask for and yet still an older camper that has been taken good care of. If you would be interested send me a message. I just pulled it out of the building for the first time since winter this weekend and it got pretty dusty so Ill be cleaning it in the next couple days.
