Where do you hook your break away brake cable.
Do you hook to the hitch somewhere?
Do you hook to bed rail?
How far in do you hook it?

I use a "quick link" and it serves the additional protection of insuring that the safety latch is latched and will stay latched.

We have ours hooked on to the side wall of the truck, it's high enough to keep it from getting into the hitch, but not mounted on the hitch.

Using a carabiner, I do the same thing. I also encased the cable in a length of split loom to prevent it from getting caught up under a rail, etc.

MOST Important part in Red!!!
I will be relocating mine to a BETTER location, as I pulled the pin backing into a space.

If the hitch flies out of the bed of the truck, you have worse problems than worrying about the breakaway.

I catch mine up in the lock on the safety latch on a Reese hitch.

I connected my cable to the truck bed near the edge of the tailgate with a carabiner. Just make sure the cable can't get tangled up with anything during manuevering.
