Purchase what you like that carries your GVW. This is getting to be as silly as the manufacturer's weight wars. Why do we do something like, here is what I use, I have used it X amount of miles with X weight. Here is what it looks like now, here is the maintenance I have done on it, here is what it looks like now. These are the issues I had with it, and on. Would help to make a decision a lot easier.

Do you know how high your 5th wheel hitch needs to be to get your trailer level (or close to level)?

16" or less starts limiting your choices with some 5th wheel hitches, especially B&W. Don't want to be too nose high. See a lot of that on the road.

My 02 Dodge Dually Cummins just got a 18k patriot B&W. I just wanted to mention that not all understand what a "puck" system is or a turn over ball. In my case, I installed a rail system in the bed. I could have gone further with the hitch mod and spend way more but this is what will work for me. So as to clarify what this all means, can someone with the know how explain it so any newbie to 5th wheel gets it? I'm also new to this type of towing...Now comes the buggy... Toy hauler!

Then let's turn this party into a weight police party. Mix it up with a mfg after party. Then before the nights over let's get Crunk and talk politics and religion.....

Sorry, I really have nothing to contribute. Just trolling along.

I have seen the Andersen hitch in dealerships and repair facilities, but I don't know much about them. Talked to one owner recently who loved his Andersen hitch. All I noticed was his rig riding very nose high. I have the B&W Companion. It works well for me. Boring? Perhaps! But we gotta have something to talk about.

Love my Anderson, and I don't ride nose high.
Light and easy to put in and out, plus now they have an aluminum version at 30 some pounds!

We've discussed towing over weight on tow vehicles a lot, but never talked about towing over weight in regards to the hitch capacity. That's got to be good for at least 3 pages, right?!

I miss the good old days of Outdoor Speakers threads and derwud talking about driving through Palmcaster with his black tank valve wide open.

We have a TS BD3. The only hitch we've ever had because our previous TT hitch was a Hensley and we traded it in on the BD3 when we got our FW. Top quality and easy to remove if you get the BD3, other version of their hitches do not come apart to remove and your hitch weight will determine the hitch version. Smooth riding. No chucking. Easy hitch up and because of the way you hitch, you'll know if you hitched up correctly. TS's are all air rides which accounts for their name - it says it all!
