Traded my 2013 F250 in on a 2016 F350 DRW. Wow what a world of difference from towing with a SRW to a DRW. Should've got the dually in the first place. I would post a pic but I don't know how.

It's been my experience on this forum that "MOST" of the SRW truck owners refuse to admit that the DRW trucks tow the big 5'vers better. I don't understand it, but there it is.

I don't want to high jack and take away from the op's spot light because he deserves it so this is my last post about it. I drive a Drw truck as a DD tow heavy on a regular basis. I also owned a DRW and SRW trucks of the same make any generation and towed the same RV with boat behind them and there was literally no noticeable difference between them other than the DRW was a lot stiffer in the suspension department. Also the DRW truck I'm comparing to was a CC so it had twice as many springs on the rear than a standard DRW pick-up has. I'm not going to admit nothing because I have nothing to admit.

Again OP, very nice ride.

Well, please also allow me one final post on this matter.
You transamz9, are living in fantasy land!
You have also unwittingly, reinforced my point.

Now then, another look at this machine!!

Nice truck, they sure have come a long way from my 1999 Superduty dually. Mine had a measly 4000 ish lbs of payload before my family got in the truck...what kind of payload capacity do you have on your door sticker?

As far as a dually being more stable... Than a SRW...well, it's got 100% more tire contact in the back...that's double the sidewall's and twice the contact patch on the ground...plus it's got a wider footprint..physics says it's more stable....a wider base is more stable than a narrower base with a similar load.

Thanks!

Jeremiah

So you are saying that your 99 was more stable towing than my 13 SRW is? Don't get out much do ha. Lol. Funny thing is my 05 2500 is more stable than my 13 after the mods.

If you're thinking SRW is more stable than a dually I want some of whatever you are smoking.

14, 000 GVWR Front GAWR 5, 940 RAWR 9, 650. Yeah they keep getting more torque and HP every year. I think the Dodge comes with 865 lb ft torque as the new Ford's are 860. Before long they will be selling minature semis!

OP...curious what gearing you have, 3:73? what are you getting for fuel economy? I also have a f250 6.7 and am planning to make the move in the future, just curious if my fuel mileage will change that much.

BTW nice truck and good luck.
3.73 and the fuel mileage I haven't even bothered looking at it towing yet. I've only towed a few miles just to see how it handled. Driving around town the mileage is about the same as my 13 F250. I have around 1, 500 miles on my truck so far.
