Florida beaches

Wife and I want to take a trip down to Florida, everything we hear is fla beaches are not dog friendly. any truth to this? heard there are very few places to be able to take dog for walk on beach. which means in wife's view, were not going if we can't walk her on the beach.

Carrabelle in Franklin County along Florida's Panhandle East of Panama City is dog friendly. There are a couple of RV Parks, Carrabelle RV Resort & Ho Hum. St. George Island near Apalachicola is dog friendly. There is a designated dog friendly area in Panama City West of the pier at Pier Park. When standing in front of the city pier (on Front Beach Rd), the dog beach is located on the right side of the pier. Dogs must be kept on-leash and please keep the limit to 3 dogs per person. From Panama City West to Gulf Shores, except for residents with permits in Walton County, no dogs on the beaches.

People just get tired of getting dog s*£# between their toes.

Most beach communities have at least one dog beach. Inquire when you get there.

FL State Parks do not allow pets on the beach. I asked one of the rangers as to why and the response was that it was for the best interest of the animal: lack of fresh water, dehydration, sand fleas, salt water not being good for their skin and coat, and even sunburn

But its all good for me??

Fort myers has a dedicated dog beach, but yes not to many places where dogs ar allowed on beach.

I stopped by Long Key SP today, and the brochure states Pets are not permitted on the shoreline, in the water, or in park facilities.

Walton Rocks is a nice dog friendly beach on Hutchinson Island.

Panama City area state parks, Destin, St. Andrews, Port St. Joseph, no dogs on beach. Don't know about the rest of Florida. Traveling by the Port St. Joe area, no dogs on the beach in the local communities either.

1.5 miles of beach. Dogs are allowed they even have free bags for poo.

There are other beaches that allow dogs only before 9 AM

You'll have a very hard time finding a beach that allows dogs. We've looked....heh.
