How much can the landing gears lift?

Hi,

I am temporarily parked on my inclined drive way to ready the FW for the weekend. The fridge will not start because the front end of the FW is not level with the rear. Can the landing gears lift the weight of my F350 still attached to the FW in order for me to bring the front end of the FW level?

I definitely would not lift the truck with the landing gear. I doubt it would have the power to do it anyway.

And I'll bet that is not the reason your fridge isn't firing off.

The owners manual for my FW fridge says it can be upto 6* off of level front to back and upto 3* off of level side to side, so maybe you don't need to lift the truck.

Yea, it'll do it. I see trucks hanging from 5th wheels all the time. That's the way I rotate my duallie's tires.

Don't do it. Unhook.

You are likely to shear a roll pin that protects the motor from overload/overtravel.

Not sure how your cutoff is for the motor but mine is not like the slide or the TT tongue jack. I'm guessing your 5'er jacks are like most and when you hit the bottom or the top and hold it too long it will blow the inline fuse. Essentially you wouldn't be able to lift much more than the 5'er and you'd blow the fuse. Or worse the motor.

I was able to lift the front end of my previous rig about 1 foot to accommodate a sloping driveway. Not attached to the truck of course.

DON'T DO IT! The design intent of your landing gear did not include lifting your truck. Just unhook it. It's not that hard.

Maybe you can drive your rear axle onto some blocks (ramps) will help.
Not sure how much of a incline your talking about.

I would not do it more than a couple of inches above the loaded level. The frame of the 5th is probably not designed for that kind of load.

I would not! The landing gear has decent capacity, but not that much. Why not unhitch from the truck.
