New to us 2011 Dodge 3500 DRW CTD that we picked up for a great price - just finished the hitch install and put the pin in it. Going to add Air Bags but pulling out on Sunday so that will have to wait a week or so.

What's the hitch weight on that 5er ?

I didn't think a 3500 would need air bags, but it is somewhat low looking,

The bags prevent you from bottoming out on the bump stops when you hit expansion joints or potholes. In general they take a lot of bounce out and smoothen out the ride. They're valuable at night also to save the eyes on the people driving towards you.

the picture shows both the ford and dodge are low so it needs air bags. I see this a lot so why not make the truck sit level. Seems like a good idea to me.

Nice looking fifth. have fun.

Great looking truck.

Why air bags? Does it really sag that much? By allowing the springs to take up most of the weight, you are letting it do it's thing. By installing air bags, you will not be using the softer spots in the springs, so you might have a stiffer ride, such as when driving down a pot-holed road unloaded.
