Rig destroyed today!

Ginnie and I have been on the road since mid June. This morning I developed a sudden fuel leak in my 2013 F350. It ignited before I could get stopped. Ginnie, our doggie and I bailed out of the truck and the cab was quickly engulfed in flames.

The fire spread to our 2014 Grand Design Reflection fifth wheel. The truck, FW, and all of our personal possessions were destroyed. We were able to buy some clothes tonight and we'll drive the 1800 miles to home in a rental car. When I get home, I'll post some pictures.

As all have stated, I am so sorry for your loss, but so grateful that you, your wife and dog all made it out safely. Praying that you will not encounter any hassles during the replacement process. Looking forward to hearing that you are once again back on the road!

Jim, sorry to hear of your tragic experience! It is hard, but most possessions can be replaced. On the bright side, you have a home to return to. I hope the replacement process goes well for you, and wish you the best of luck in the future!

I experienced a car fire once, many years ago. It was devastating, and it was only the car. We would be completely heart broken if we lost truck and trailer under any conditions. I am sorry for your loss and extremely grateful you and your's are all OK. That's the most important thing.

Every time, before pulling out of the drive way before any travels with truck and trailer, my wife and I always say a little quick prayer, "Lord, get us there safely; and get us home safely." When we get home, pulling in the drive way, we always say, "Thank-you Lord!" I'll say, "Thank-you Lord for watching over TusonJim also and for giving him the wisdom to do the right thing at just the right moment!"

I have always had this big plan that if the 5ver caught fire I'd unhook it and drop it on the ground doing what ever damage to to the truck...never gave any thought to the truck catch fire.

What a horrible experience. So sorry you had to go thru that. So glad that you and your family and pet escaped injury and are ok. Our prayers will be with you tonight for a safe trip back home.

Keep us posted when you find out how the fuel leak occurred. Doesn't sound right in a 2013!
