WW Repairs

As just about all of us have read here, certain models of WW trailers have defects that have resulted in a number of different problems. To one degree or another, this subject has come up on this forum and most of the posts have eventually been locked and/or deleted. The forum administration has decided to make a one-time exception and allow this thread in order to help our forum members get informed and hopefully get their trailers repaired.

IMPORTANT GROUND RULES:
  • This thread is a one-off exception to the following forum rule:
Posts are not allowed in which a local or state consumer action board and/or legal counsel is/have been involved. This includes posts related to future, ongoing or past lawsuits.
This exception applies to this one thread only. This rule will continue to be enforced in other threads. So keep the WW class action discussion in this thread, or your posts will be deleted.

  • The following rule will still be enforced:
You may post about problems you have with a product or organization, however the use of the forums to repeatedly attack them is strictly forbidden.
In other words, no bashing allowed. This thread is for disseminating information, not venting your spleen. Flaming, trolling, bashing, etc. will not be permitted.

  • Only general discussion of these problems and repairs are allowed. Specific questions about individual circumstances are not allowed ("my XYZ is bent, does this situation apply to me?").

  • We all have brains. Please use them. Verify what you read here. I am wrong all the time. Please don't rely on me for any decisions you may choose to make. If you make a bad call, don't blame me, please.

  • For the sake of full disclosure, I own a 2005 FS2600 and am having trouble with my trailer. I consider myself fairly objective, but that doesn't mean I don't ever have biases. In some recent cases where I could not be objective, I defered to Y-Guy and Admin to take the wheel. In this thread I will tell you what I've done and what my experiences have been.
Now, with that out of the way...

As most of you know, there has been a class action suit and Weekend Warrior is settling with the class. Here's a link to the Settlement Agreement: http://www.trailersettlement.com/sa.pdf. I won't go into the details of the settlement, because I don't want to be in the position of interpreting it or giving any legal clarification or advice. So if you're having trouble with your trailer, this is one possible avenue. Contact (866)459-6003 or visit www.trailersettlement.com for information about the class action settlement. They can tell you whether you qualify and where to go from there.

That's one option.

Without going into too many details, I discovered some problems with my trailer. After seeing pictures of some that were worse than mine, I decided I'd better do something before it got worse. However, I'm not a fan of class action suits. I've received too many checks for $10 in the mail to cover one class action or another. I didn't want to take the chance of having my trailer only partially fixed or having to personally pay a bunch of money for only half a fix. So I contacted Weekend Warrior directly and told them about my problems. Couldn't hurt, right?

Know what they said? "Let's make an appointment for you to bring it in and we'll fix it." :E

So yesterday I took my trailer down to beautiful Perris and dropped it off. I asked about the cost, and my service writer said they'd FIX IT. I watched him write up his sheet and he only filled in prices for the extra items I requested (fair 'nuf). Being the selfish guy I am, I took this bit of good news and high tailed it out of there counting myself a very lucky man. Sure, it would have been better if it hadn't broken in the first place. But the past can't be changed. I just want mine fixed.

After feeling fairly secure that I had MINE taken care of, I wanted to find out if I had just personally hit the jackpot or if this was the WW policy in these cases. So I contacted someone higher up at WW to find out if other people in this same situation could expect the same treatment. Here's what I was told:
Any customer who currently has an issue, we are standing behind [them]. If they have an issue that has not been resolved, we are directing them to contact us here, locally, or the dealership in their area.

We are standing behind our product. By that, I mean we are fixing anything that needs to be fixed as long as there are no apparent signs of abuse. If the consumer is, however, looking for any type of monetary compensation then we cannot directly assist them. They would then need to contact the (866)459-6003 number or visit www.trailersettlement.com.

There's your other option.

If you choose to contact Weekend Warrior directly for repairs, call (909)579-0353. The operator in Upland routes the calls to the appropriate repair facility in Perris (Superlite or Normal).

My sources have told me that as of yesterday at 4pm the Sheriff's went in and locked down WW. As of Monday, they will be completely shut down. They owe the bank a ton of money and have pretty much liquidated everything they can. I hope all of you that have your trailers there will be able to get them out. Maybe they will re-open in the future under someone else's name but for now, they are no longer.

I am concerned that WW is still having problems with repairs and supporting/servicing the ones that have already been sold! There are many indications that they might be forced into Chapter 11 or 13 - due to the large number of units with problems. I have also read where folks who just purchased a BRAND NEW units - and trailered it home! upon arriving at home found many problems that occurred on the trip home! Knowing that WW cannot address ALL the issues - why is WW and dealers still promoting and selling their units knowing that they will not be repaired or fixed! and the more I read in the blogs - the more I start to believe that they will be filing for Chapter 11 or Chapter 13 this year.

I have noticed some cracks in the tongue area (2005 - FS30) and have tried to get it in for inspection and possible service! I have been told the earliest I can get my rig in to be inspected will be the end of Nov! What am I suppose to do in the mean time??

Kent in Texas,
Please know I am happy for you, but also I need your help to know how to go about doing what you did to get WW to fix my 2007 FS 2300 (which was one year old yesterday and sitting at dealership for past 4 months.)
What do you mean "unmentionable?" What did you do? I need your help! I'll do it too!
WW just keeps talking down to me and passing me off.
Does WW treat men owners differently from women owners? Are there any women owners out there that have gotten the repairs done? If they cheat women owners and not men owners, can one of you guys call WW for me and talk tough? Guess they aren't worried about a 5'4" tall woman cutomer?
Jamie was going to find Max Villa about my repairs and never called back. Jim Goodwin has all the info on my trailer and never called back, never answers my calls either. (Curious though that Jim talks to you guys?) His new boy from Rag'N, Dave Montti, told me and a dealer representative that I could get a lawyer and sue my dealership in Fayetteville, GA. My dealer, Scotty, in Georgia said WW is "P.O.'d" with him for telling them to come get their 12 new units off his lot because he's not selling them with "no warranty" and that's why WW is trying to make him the fall guy.
Montti said "he never touched my coach, that I have to go back to my dealer for repairs." (It's been at a dealership for 4 months awaiting approval from WW for the warranty repairs.) Of couse that's true, Dave was working for Rag'N last year and couldn't have "touched my coach" and at that time I was being given the WW run around by Shawn who no longer works for WW. But, dear Dave Montti, your new company built my defective "coach" before you got there. I know you, Dave, "didn't touch my coach," but the guy paying you did, he built it which is what a lawyer can explain to you.
So, guys, can you help me or not?

Well I got my WW FS2500 back yesterday from the WW factory in Cali. They had a truck deliver it to my house and I have to say I am VERY VERY happy with work they did.

Sorry, didn't see this post when I posted above! OOPS!!!! Great news. I have spoken to Jamie and Jim several times in the past 2 weeks. They don't know if the company will survive but they have been very upfront with me concerning my questions and getting my coach back to me. Heres' hoping.....

Yep Ive been talking to Jamie, Jim and Mark about the company and my trailer. Mark even answers his own phone when he is at his desk. They where great people do deal with and made sure I got my trailer back when I needed it. All the work I needed done was done great. Trailer was washed inside and out carpet cleaned and vacuumed and floors cleaned. I am very happy. My trailer is over 2 years old also, so I believe I was actually out of warranty

Hoorray!!!My coach arrived today at noon!. My floor is unbelieveable compared to original, just like the garages on the fivers!. Frame was braced underneath to keep the spring hangers from flexing, prophylactic fix to the tongue although not needed, roof completetly resealed, new bench seat that I damaged (I didn't ask for half of these things!) Fridge ran all the way from Cali to Galveston!!!...no problems!!! I have to say I was VERY skeptical that I would even see my coach again without a major brewhaha,..........butttttttttttt it's here and I'm impressed. I should also qualify this by saying it should have been like this from the begining. I had to do something unmentionable on this forum to achieve this response. But cheers to jim Goodwin & Jamie & owner Mark Warmouth......Thanks again for trying to bring this thing out of the mire and make it what it should be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WW update: No call back from Jamie today, nor did Max Villa call. Jamie said she was going to go search for Max and it might take a couple of hours to locate him to schedule my repairs.
No call from Jim Goodwin at WW who had the information for a week. (and, If Shawn told the truth then Jim has had our information for months.) They are supposedly sorry that Shawn, who is no longer employed by WW, messed us around for 4 months.
The dealership's phone call today was shuffled off to the new guy, Monty from Rag'N, who is at Jim/ Jamie's extension. He said he is new on the scene and he is obviously the new "NO" guy who specializes in getting rid of the caller. He wanted to blame the "authorized dealer" who filed a warranty repair with WW for repair of the front cap on our unit before it was ever delivered to us. The same "authorized dealer" approved by WW that does not have a facility to do repairs nor the technicians. Why did WW "authorize" this dealer? Maybe he'll like knowing he's their new fall guy? We had to move our new trailer months ago 160 miles to an "authorized dealer" who does have a shelter for our WW to prevent further damage.
Our WW is one year old today. Happy and Birthday it is not.
Monty, the new "NO" guy was going to go to Jim to see what they can do for us. I'm sure they will cheat right.
Hey, Memphis, Tenn could you call your father-in-law Mark for me?

I feel for you. The new guy is Dave Montti not Monty I talked to him and Jamie yesterday in there office at the plant. They where swamped with phone calls yesterday.

30 items?
sounds like you may be a little picky. I fell for any company thats sells to you.
I agree with Alx, you need to get a little handy.

I am picky and I should be. This unit retails for $49,000. It should not have the problems that it has had. There is not quality control that I can see. The frame around the oven was bent and cracked. The bench fell apart and had to be replaced. I have had three water leaks, two electrical problems, floor started bubling up on the inside and had to be replaced, the plastic undercarriage came off driving down the road, the shower walls began bulging away from the wall and had to be re-glued,...etc. I can fix quite a bit, but items like this I shouldn't have to. I even bought an extended warranty but I cannot use it as long as I am still under the origianl warranty and my unit is still new. I would take it back if I could, but it appears as if I am stuck with this so I need it fixed.

I should be happy for you in Tenn getting your OUT OF WARRANTY FS 2500 WW repaired, cleaned and delivered. How are you related to Mark? (I'm guessing your his son-in-law?)
My NEW WW FS 2300 STILL UNDER WARRANTY for it's first year is sitting at the dealership where it has been for 4 months waiting on legitimate first year warranty work or even a return phone call from WW to the authorized dealer.
Maybe the reason they could never answer the phone calls from the dealership or from me was because they were too busy talking on the phone to you?
I'm angry now and feeling very ripped off that my legitimate warranty claims were ignored in favor of working on an out of warranty trailer.
I did lots of research before buying and felt I made a good choice and I don't feel that now.
I called and actually talked to Jamie after I read your posting and they are looking again at my pictures. (Maybe the operator felt I sounded like I should not be ignored anymore? I'm amazed that I actually got the phone answered!! That was a first!) Maybe I will hear from Jamie in a couple of hours? (hold breath or not?) It will take her, she said, a couple of hours to locate the person who has to make the decision on my trailer, not Jim who had the pictures last week, but now someone named Mac.
I may need you to call your father-in-law (Mark) on my behalf.
