We are planning a trip to Mackinac in July. Can anyone help with some campground suggestions around the general area? Thank you in advance

Straights State Park is just east of the North end of the Bridge.

When last I was there (long time ago) thy had a bit of an issue with one of the water pumps and line pressure was peaking at around 120 PSI.. (Moral,, bring a regulator).
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Mackinaw Creek now has big rig sites with 50amp service. Not on the shore but close enough to walk to the water. Nice views of the Mackinac Bridge.

For an upscale experience try Bay Harbor RV Resort in Charlevoix. If you book now, the rate is only $49/night....beautiful resort...

If you have kids with you, be sure to visit the shoreline for Petoskey Stones...they will keep the kids busy for hours...

BTW...on the Island, WTF means "Where's the Fudge"...:W......Dennis

We stop at Mill Creek Campground every year coming home from our summer Upper Peninsula trip. We really like it! I not only recommend it, I give it a two thumbs up!

We stayed there last July. They were doing a special. It was either 4 or 5 nights free. We stayed 4 nights.

If you are going to Mackinac Island, plan on a couple of days minimum. There's a lot to see and do. Just park your MH in the parking lot of the ferry service that takes you to the island. For a few bucks more a day, the ferry I used had a fenced in area for high value vehicles to park in. That's a lot cheaper than any campground in the area.

We stated at the Lilac Tree Hotel and loved it.

We stayed at the KOA in Mackinac City. It was a typical KOA and very clean and great owners.
Short drive to down town and ferries to the island.

This one is right near everything. I last stayed there about 5 years ago and the site I was on was narrow when slide outs on both sides of trailer were opened.

We were there 9 years ago and loved it. I would agree the spots were a bit narrow.

Straits SP is a nice park. Ride your bike to the ferry terminal, and then take it with you to the island. The ferry are VERY LOUD if you sit near the stern, bring ear protection.

The SP has a lot of pull-through sites with 30/50A service, and many threaded hydrants; don't stay hooked, just fill and unhook otherwise the green-shirts might decide to file off the threads.

Also like Mill Creek. Got some great sites that have a view of the bridge and water.

A couple possibilities across the Straits from Mackinaw City, in St. Ignace: there's a KOA there, not too bad a place, and Straits State Park. We have camped at the former, quite a few years ago, but have only driven through the latter. Some nice shaded spots there, and there's a ferry to the island from St. Ignace. Enjoy! Mackinac Island is one of my all-time favorite places. ๐Ÿ™‚
