oh rats! guess this was a mistake!

as mentioned before, we traded in our class C for the 2002 Windsong, 34' with 2 slides class A. been finding little things. our Winnebago fit and finish and so much better. we've been making repairs, finding little things. now caught in a pretty good rain squall on the Oregon coast have discovered it leaks in multiple locations. my DH had them "replace" the roof before we bought. we saw no evidence of leaks on the ceiling, but now discover the rugs are wet in front and rear locations and this afternoon coming out of the front TV box. still have other repairs to make and now this? I'm sick. how can leaks from slide seals be repaired? (these are replacements) and in the front--windshield or weep holes?

I would suggest you move inland from the coast until you get the roof repaired or you'll never get it dried out properly. Mold will start forming and then you'll really have problems. There are many RV facilities around Eugene. That would be your best bet. Good luck.

If your carpet is wet the width of the slide.
The water may be running down and wicking up from
under the wall into the carpet.

To allow the slides to retract,
there is no overhang on the sides of the slide.

I cured mine by taping a piece of stiff plastic,
actually a panel off a vertical blind, to the ends of the slide.

Works for me because this is on our fiver
permanently set up in Florida,
the slides are out for months at a time!

Buy a high velocity fan and let it run for 2-3 days on carpet and it will dry fast. Have your roof checked again and seal all clearance lights. Hang in there and you can get it sealed up.

Had roof replaced by CJ's RV repair in Yuma 2 years ago - great job and no problems.
After a couple of leaks and repairs I learned to put the slides in during wind and rain. Good luck!

thanks all for the suggestions--all good. we had the roof repaired/replaced by country roads RV in yuma. i suspect they didn't really replace--i suspect they laid in what they thought was a seam remedy and covered it. we need to get back to the treasure valley and some warm weather to start drying out some of this carpet. the gasket replacement was not done by country roads but another dealer i believe by the former owner. the gasket is obviously sloppy and i believe became a funnel looking at the installation (i'll have to go back and look at that repair order). right now i have wet towels trying to soak up as much as possible and hear more rain coming in now. gees...enough already!

Not sure where you are now, but the people at Camping World Portland/Wilsonville were fantastic when we had an on the road hydraulic jack failure. I would certainly recommend that location for expert repair or advice. Good Luck

Could also be a window leaking.

I also had a winnabego class c and I thought the cabinets and trim to be of good quality compared to the others I looked at. I now have a TT and the old minni had higher quality interior.

You said the roof was replaced when you bought and the slide seals are replacements ( have been replaced ) the tips you have received are all good! clearance light eternabond etc but I think I'd be on the phone with the ( dealer) who replaced the roof , if that's the problem, and the slide seal especially , which I would guess were not installed properly . Perhaps they can be of assistance ? If your willing What's their name ? I'll Add them to my " list" :-0

For the water leak problem up front I'd looking at the seal on the front fiberglass & rubber roof. Also the trim pieces on the edges that hold the rubber roof material down. That's where mine was leaking water into the front area.

The leaks on the front tv box are probably from the exterior cam lights near the roof. It is a common problem. Remove them and re seal under them and no more problem. I would also seal all the seams on the roof with eternabond. Every rv i owned i did that to and never had any leak whatsoever.

I'm sorry your going thru a rough time now with your coach! The leaks needs to be fixed ASAP! When my slide out seal was leaking first we used a hair dryer to dry out the carpet (which we had to pull up) to dry the flooring. We had a RV Shop make the repair because, I didn't have a shop or the tools to make the repair. The RV shop had to use a fork lift to lift the slide out unit out so the old seal could be taken out and a new seal put in. The repair cost us $800.00 Good Luck
