Roof Vents??

Just purchased a 2005 PW Plateau and was repairing the antenna when I noticed there are no vent caps on the two sewer vent pipes. Did this unit come with caps? If so, where can I buy replacements? Are there vented covers available for the forward mounted bathroom roof vent?
Thank You!

Thanks for all the replies. Since I ordered two of the cheap push in ones, I'll only put them on when the unit is stored for a period of time. Mainly I want to keep the leaves from our willow tree out of the pipes.
Thanks Again!

"Standard stack pipe vent caps are designed to prevent water and debris from entering the pipe. On windy days, or when the RV is in motion, they can allow, or even cause, air to be forced down the stack pipe. This causes the pressure inside the holding tank to be GREATER than the pressure inside the living space. Odors are then forced into the RV through plumbing traps and worn seals."

Roadtreks also do not have vent caps and advise never to add one. If the Pleasureway did not come with vent caps, you better be sure if adding one will not cause any problems.

Pleasureway didn't use vent caps. Hardly any rain would enter ours or does. Ours is a 2006 Plateau.

The 2005 Pleasure-way Plateau is 9 years old. Has there ever been a problem with the vent? If not, it should be the last of any concerns.

Neither of my used Roadtreks had vent pipe covers, or any evidence of one, just the bare pipe sticking thru the roof. The 1st one was several years old when I bought it so may have lost its cap, but the 2nd one was bought less than a year old. My Tiger C has a two-piece plastic cap, which I replaced after about six years due to sun & tree damage.

You really don"t need them. You will never get enough water from rain to amount to anything. It rains a lot here in Florida and even when the rig sits for 6 months I have very little. At the size of the vent pipes it would have to rain about a foot to get a cup of water in the tank.

With tanks as small as class b vans have, I would not like anymore water than necessary going into those tanks. The forward opening roof vent sounds like a Friday after a 3 martini lunch job.

There are no caps and never were any on the 2005 Plateau roof vents (I had one). Why would you need them? Even if it rains the water is only going to go into your black tank or grey tank and it can't be all that much. You could get a little bit of tree debris but that debris will just come out with your gravity dump.

Thanks for the replies! It really doesn't look like there were any caps on the pipes unless they were the type that just pushed in with the metal tension springs, so that's what I just ordered. My old class A had caps that were screwed down, but this other design should work just fine. I'll wait to find a vent cover for the bathroom vent. Just need to make sure its never left open since it faces forward!
Thanks Again!

Are the spring steel pieces still in the top of your vent pipes? If so then you can make new caps that will never, ever deteriorate. I replaced my 3 vent caps with aluminum cat food cans turned upside down and riveted to the steel piece. I painted them white and they look purdy.

I would put PVC Ts on with the holes facing front and back. They work better than the round caps and my MH came with them.

Can get them most everywhere. this type will work as you may not be able to tell which brand of base you have. Come in white or colonial.
