Storage bays: carpeted or rhinocast?

As we continue researching our future Class A purchase, and have narrowed the gasser field down to the Tiffin Allegro and Newmar Canyon Star, we have noticed Tiffin (and some other brands) has the rhinocast-lined bays and Newmar (and Winnebago) has carpeted bays.

Tiffin claims their bays are easier to clean. I have seen photos of carpeted bays on used Class A's with lots of stains and soiling which seems to support Tiffin's claim of easier cleaning with the rhinocast bays.

Opinions and experiences from you experienced Class A owners out there? Is one better over the other?

Actually, I want a combination. The Newmar construction with the Tiffin baggage doors, cabinets, and floorplan (34PA) ๐Ÿ™‚

If I am going to spend $100,000+ on an RV I am looking at everything and I mean everything.

I do like the Newmar construction but if the walls are so greatly built and so thick give me my outlets in the kitchen galley wall and not hanging down underneath the cabinets so I have cords hanging down like in my $20,000 travel trailer. If Tiffin can do it, one would think Newmar with their superior wall construction could do that. Doesn't add up, maybe it is my Detective mind, but it sure seems odd.

I thought they were rotocast but this makes sense to me.

If I was going to be turning my storage bays into a man cave then I'd be concerned with stained carpet. But since they are for storage I don't care much. Mine are carpeted and while I have pulled everything out and vacuumed them out, I could not tell you if they are stained or not. Never really looked. I personally would take the carpet over the rhino lining as it keeps stuff from sliding.

We really like the carpet because items don't slide around when driving.

Whether or not something has carpeted storage bays would have zero impact which rig I would purchase.

This is a pretty minor factor in a purchase but my 20 year old Winnie carpeted bays look just fine
She may be old but she is paid for (the rig that is)

I suggest astro turf. Keeps stuff from sliding and you can shake it out if needed.
