jnharley, mentioned home made rubs. Really want to learn the secrets and get involved in this. DW has an over sensitive pallet and is totally opposed to red pepper, etc. anything "hot". Any starting point to consider for a recipe?

I like many of the commercial rubs, but the DW has an strong dislike toward peppers especially red peppers and any or all HOT spices. So I hop to build our own.
