After giving feedback in the form of a review for a product purchased from Camping World's website we wondered why our review was never posted although others dated later were.
Upon further inspection we noticed only reviews of 4-5 stars were posted. Then we started checking out other products. Lo and behold, no products on the Camping World web site show any reviews less than 4 stars. Not only that, I searched for all products on the site that only had a 1 star review. It showed many available but when you go to any of those items you only see reviews listed that are at least 4 stars. Do you suppose this is because everyone who has ever purchased from Camping World is just so happy with their products that they have nothing negative to say about it or is Camping World selectively choosing reviews which means the reviews are not a real-world indication of what people think?
BTW... I was told my review would be reviewed and posted within 14 days. I assumed that was to insure I used no inappropriate language and not because I gave an unfavorable review.
I will take my money and shop elsewhere!

I too have been looking for CW's response. So far they have not denied this practice. I too will start looking to see if any negative ratings make it to the reviews.

I'm appalled, not surprised, that CW would be part of such shenanigans since many companies do not perform this practice. I have not noticed this in the past although it has been sometime since I have ordered anything from CW mostly due to excessive shipping costs. In fact, I remember reading a few negative reviews some years ago, maybe this scrupulous practice is more recent in nature.

Oh well, I try to do business with CW as much as possible as a way to thank them for this wonderful forum, it's the only reason we are Good Sam members as we rarely make use of their lackluster benefits. Recent changes are not making anything better, some even seem counter-productive.

I hope to see a more definitive reply from CW. A retailer needs to understand what products in the inventory are performing poorly as well as those performing well. I always read the negative reviews first. I don't always believe them but i still read them. If CW is truly removing poor reviews I think its worse than leaving them on. To the OP what is the product you gave the poor review?

The review was for item #67689. Below is my review and the comments sent via email from CW.

Stars: 1
Title: Not Happy!
Name: Frenchie
Date: 08/31/2014
comments: This unit does what they claim. We have no issues with that but nowhere in the description does it say the ice maker does not keep the ice frozen. You have to remove the 9 ice cubes, each about the size of the tip of your ring finger and place them in another container in your freezer every 10 minutes or they melt back into the water used for making ice. There is no difference between small and large size cubes as far as we can tell either. Personally, we
will go back to making ice the old fashion way in trays.

We will evaluate your review and post it within 14 days if approved.

None of the unfavorable reviews that I submitted to Camping World have been published.

I submitted one scathing review on a product (and Camping World's pathetic packaging) once and they went as far as sending my review to the manufacturer in an email, requesting that the manufacturer get in touch with me. I had no idea this was going on until I received an email from the manufacturer asking what they could do to make things better for me. I could see the previous correspondence from Camping World to the manufacturer in the attached emails. They never posted that review, either.

I trust the reviews on Amazon. That's where I shop for my camping needs now.

I guess I am "old school" and still want to believe everyone is on the up and up as far as honesty. I have always purchased according to recommendations from reviews.

amandasgramma...I will heed your advice about Google and change my research methods. Thanks for the tip.

We never refer to the selling business' website for reviews. We'll put the product name with "review" after it into google and do our researching that way. But, to comment on what you posted......No, I hadn't noticed it....but I'm sure I will now!!!!!
