Cripes! ^^^^ very sad!

Looks like anyone can fall victim to unseen on-line task chair bullies.
I've been 4umming for about ten years and as sites grow the chasm between groups widens.
Forums are all talk, few remember what they said or who they said it to.
I find this forum somewhat irritating, yet there are way worse places to waste words on.

The denizens of this place are probably late 40's to high 70's in age on average. Most likely respectable people who are successful in life.

The above is where I find this place strange with the amount of bickering and at times down right hatefulness.
This is one reason I try not to ask many questions, I'm retired and have been around the block once or twice.

Could it be that we are all at an age where we can tell you, but take offense at being told what to do.

Everyone knows the internet face is not the real face.
I'm sure we'd all do much better saying hell-o with an actual handshake.

Just my thoughts...
Peace everyone!

It is kind of like telling someone off over the telephone. They can't see you and you can't see them. Gives us some kind of super power in our minds. Like we can get away with verbal assassination over the phone without getting hurt ourselves. I got mad at the pharmacy folks at RiteAid the other day, told them that they had no clue when it comes to customer service, had to hang up in her ear as she kept rambling on about nothing concerning the problem. Was a easy fix - told doc to send DW's scripts to a more customer friendly pharmacy. Now I don't have to put up with RiteAid's annoying phone calls. But I might have jumped from the frying pan into the fire - time will tell.

And it is easier to loose it and verbally assassinate someone over a internet forum. But it certainly is not the right thing to do. I think we need to spread respect with respect. Not necessary to flame anyone. And not necessary announce the name of someone who does the flaming. That just feeds the flamers ego and gives them more power over the person being flamed. Better to let the person with real power (moderator or administrator) reach out through cyberspace and put the flamers in their place.

I just checked my own. A couple of spots have N/A in them simply because I didn't know the answer. "RVing since" and "Website". I have a Fleetwood 'C' but didn't know the model number. Still don't. I had a Roadtrek before the 'C', but don't remember the year or model number.
As far as my map, I've never been in Washington or Oregon. And although I've been in all the northeastern states from Mass. north, not in an RV, so I can't answer RV questions, but I can sure talk about winter - on an aircraft carrier, and offer color commentary on the "Combat Zone" in Boston. Alas, it is no more. ๐Ÿ™‚
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

One more thing - you can also click on the Notify Moderator link on the offending post. Stuff like that is against the rules - which the moderator should be enforcing.

You can click on the flamers name and select block this member. Then you don't have to deal with them. I've considered putting the user names of the ones I have blocked into my signature line.

X2. And regretfully, just like life, we have to develop some thick skin because of folks like them. Don't know their problem, but its their, and not yours, so don't let them turn it into yours!

I put a photo of my rig and States and Provinces camped in in my signature so that when I asked questions the people replying would know what I drive and what kind of RVer I am.

I find that posters that say they have a XYZ1234 RV doesn't help me answer their questions since I have no idea what a XYZ1234 RV is, nor do I know if they are weekend campers or travelers.

If someone doesn't like my signature, well, tough.

I come on here to share information, and gain knowledge, and I treat it as my morning newspaper.
I could care less how many cats or dogs you have and what their names are, and I have never read any ones profile, or looked at what kind of RV they have.
If they want to post it that is their business.
If someone wants to know what kind of trailer I have, I'll gladly tell them.

In the past I have received a few nasty grams, and all I have done is just blocked them from sending me any more.
I like that feature.
