For us that have been snowed in all winter anyone trying to get ready for an early trip? I am going to Jekylle Island at the end of March and have a hole list of things to do to get ready but the cold and snow has put a damper on getting things done. Normally I am all about the snow as I love to snowmobile but even I am ready for spring. ๐Ÿ™‚

I guess it depends on your location. Here in the northeast I would consider Late Feb. through early April as a early trip.

We have thought about taking off for a weekend or two before we leave for a longer May trip, but the weather is making it a bit tentative. My hubby is out shoveling another 8 inches of snow right now, and it looks like another storm is on its way later in the week. Don't get me wrong...I am not complaining. We have been in a severe drought, so I will take everything we get. We just may not be able to plan. We may get everything ready and head out on the spur of the moment when things (the stars) align.

No more trip planning, no more cabin fever, no more counting the days until Spring and/or digging the MH out from a snow bank only to have to wait for the snow to be removed from the highways before I could head south for the winter or out and about for Spring RV'ing......just bought a house on 2 ac where I can park the MH AND RV 365 days a year!

Soooo glad Wisconsin is just a bad past dream. I feel for you guys though. Been there done that with all the waiting. Not anymore!:C

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

First trip planned is Easter weekend at Evergreen RV Resort in Mt. Eaton Ohio. Might take a trip sooner if the weather warms up and I can get the camper ready. Am dying to try towing with new to us 2011 Ford F250.

We are supposed to be in MB right now, but had to cancel. The unending string of mini blizzards has totally ruined DW's work schedule. We'll try again in a couple of weeks. Had the RV all ready too, darn it.

On the flip side...we have wintered in Central Florida and shortly we will have to pay the piper. Leave the end of March and start north thru GA,TN,KY,Ill, Wisc and Minn and farther north into the still very frozen reaches of N.D. and north some more. 6-7 day trip from probably the mid 80F to 32F snowbanks, ruts salt just in time for the dirty spring melt. Then it's summer and we can go camping till Oct and then start over again.

First trip was an overnighter to Quartzite to get some info on Solar for the MH. Second trip was a week in Cottonwood AZ and surrounds. Third trip was a week in Benson AZ. Next trip is 2nd week in May we'll be heading for Alaska with stops in Jackson Hole WY, Glacier NP and then wherever the road takes us on the way north. We'll be out 5-6 months. We wont return to AZ until the temperature gets bearable again.

End of March planning to go down Hwy 1 thru Fort Bragg, CA, over to Sausalito, into Napa Valley, and return through the Redwoods.

Did discover a couple propane leaks. After getting those fixed, did an overnight trip to a state park. Everything works and no water problems. Hooray!
