I bought a used cover for my RV last fall on Craigslist. The PO had never put it on his RV. This spring when we were removing it the zipper caught on the awning tube and ripped the zipper pull right out of the zipper. Last week I sent Classic Industries an email asking if they could send me a new zipper or zipper pull at my cost to replace the one I broke. My email clearly explained the circumstances of my purchase and how it broke.
Their customer service quickly answered and explained they do not have or sell replacement parts. However they did offer to replace the cover 1 time at their cost as a goodwill gesture. I was floored. I offered to come and pick it up at their Kent location as I live within 30 miles of there saving them the cost of shipping. They told me no worries and on Friday a large box containing a new cover showed up on my doorstep. This was totally unexpected as I fully expected to have to pay for a new replacement because, 1, I didn't buy it directly from them and 2, the problem was my fault, and 3, it was most likely older than any warranty. This is a great company and they have earned my future business for their products. They know how to earn business. By the way, the old cover looked like new after an entire winter on my RV so they also do make a quality product.
I am NOT a mechanic although I do play one in my garage!
