I should get the Darwin award

I should get the Darwin award for DUMB :S This spring we got a new Gray Wolf 26BH. Since we've got it I have questioned the performance of the fridge. It would always struggle to maintain 40 degrees. I was going to call the dealer and the DW and I was discussing it this week and she mentioned I wonder if our thermometer was accurate :S Dumb me It truthfully didn't even cross my mind that it could be bad. It was several years old. Anyway I got the one that I have in our fridge and thought okay lets check it out. Well when I went out to check on it about an hour later the temp in the fridge is hovering right at 34. I went out and got a new one and it's exactly like the one from the house, 34 degrees. :S I truthfully never even thought about the thermometer being wrong.

Years ago, I had a deep freeze plugged into a GFCI outlet in the garage. Suddenly, it started tripping the GFCI, regularly, a LOT. Well, I figured that the deep freeze was old and was going bad so I went out and bought a brand spanking new deep freeze. Plugged it in, and, yep, you guessed it, it started tripping the GFCI. I replaced the GFCI outlet, and it never tripped again. That was a VERY expensive lesson.

I drink beer. And my beer thermometer (mouth and tongue) are usually pretty accurate. I can tell when the fridge is off a couple degrees. Works with Milk too. It's just that I drink more beer.

Not sure you are a Darwin candidate. But ask your wife. Sounds like she is the brains of the family. That said you are smarter. And I can prove it.
