New travels trailers are getting scarce

I was into our local RV dealers a few days ago and noticed that their lot was almost empty and figured they must be selling them as fast as they can get them.
I asked the owner how she was doing and she said not nearly as good as she could be. She said prior to Covid, they could get as many as they wanted from Forest River and her lot was always full. She said now they will only let her have five a month, and they cannot keep up with the demand.

I am guessing there isn't much dickering on the price these days !

I think we're done talking about trailers now.

If "one is too many", what is the 3,000+ Covid-19 related deaths reported yesterday? Getting worse not better as people act like "It is just the sniffles". I have lost four acquaintances and that is too many for me.

Terry,
Google search "mobile morgues" and you will find a lot of places. Pueblo CO. here in Colorado is one. Very sad. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Just wait until springtime. All the "if we get a trailer we can travel all we want" folks that had no idea what they were getting into will be dumping some hardly used units after the kids and/or wife decide it is not for them.

Won't be this spring. With the media pushing the virus so hard. Camping will still be the way to go.

I don't know about this being the media's fault.... it might be tge overflowing ICUs and morgue?

Thank you

Gee haven't read about the morgues being over run. The percentage of deaths by covid have dropped because the Doctors have learned better how to treat it. It actually has a 99+ percentage of survival. Yes even one is too many. But that isn't a bad stat

I feel very fortunate that back in April, I was able to locate the 5th wheel that I wanted and could get it at 30% off MSRP. I had to go 4 hours away from my home to get it but it was worth it. Especially since I've read a lot about inventory being low all over the Country. I was very fortunate indeed!

30% off msrp days are gone. The best I can get is about 18% off on a Grand Design Reflection. The dealers a definitely in the drivers seat and if you don't want it, no problem they'll just wait for another buyer.

When we bought our 2018 Rockwood MiniLite, it left exactly ONE used RV on our dealer's lot; and he was kind of short on new stuff, too. I was stunned to have found exactly what we wanted....

^This summer?
We donโ€™t camp a lot, but found the same in ID and MT. Our usual spot for boating on Pendoreille, that RV park had vacancy, which has never been the case. And itโ€™s sweet. Nice park, great restaurant and breakfast shack onsite and a huge marina with about 50 slips.
Same with NF campgrounds in MT. They were fairly busy but not lined up out the gate. Middle of summer.
WA state parks and east side places were packed though. We either lucked out with getting a cancellation or camped on the side of the highway.
BUT no denying that many new people bought campers this year.

A lot on track 64 near Apex NC is running over with inventory. We have made several 1-2 week tripsโ€”Charleston, Pigeon Forge, Gettysburg, Annapolis, and everything inside that parameter. Have yet to find a crowded campground or be turned away from one. Up on I-95 North of Richmond there are what seems like several miles of RVs on both sides of the road.

RV sales have always been very cyclical. Wait until gasoline goes back to $3.50/gallon. Check out the National Debt if you want to see where we are headed.
