OK, disposing of travel trailer

in our deer camp. What is the procedure to scrap a travel trailer? I think it'll roll down the road, but I'm not sure.

Put it on the skoolie.net classifieds (or PM me and I'll do it), or another conversion site...converters always want parts!

I'd call some vehicle salvage yards, some do piece out RVs of many types. A quick search on any search engine should net results.

Try craigslist. Someone who sells metals will scrap it out and take what is sellable to the scrap yard. If you have batteries, we took 2 old one to the scrap yard and got $60.00. They usually pay by the pound for scrap.

Several options:

-Have fun destroying it, save the aluminum and metal, load it back onto the frame and get scrap value.

-Scrap the house portion and make a flatbed out of it as others stated. Many will buy it as a flatbed trailer for $200.00

-Donate it for a tax write off.

-Put it in the free ads...someone will come get it.

We demolished a couple left on deer leases some of those old trailers have a lot of aluminum in the siding and roof, burnt the innards and scraped the frame as well. It all fit in a small trailer didn't get rich but got rid of them.

There is a man in the area where I live that buys what he calls "junk" trailers and refurbishes them to sell. You might try finding someone like that if it is salvageable. You never know...one man's junk could be another man's treasure. Also with hunting season around the corner, a lot of hunters are getting their leases ready and your little gem may be just what they need which makes Craigslist a perfect place to advertise something like that this time of year. If it wasn't so far away, I would gladly take it off your hands.
I would strip it down to the frame, sell the metal for scrap, take the rest to the landfill, put a deck on the frame to make a flatbed trailer out of it, put good used LT tires on it, then either sell it for $500 or keep it for personal use.
I can get a new title for it here, along with a new VIN, and sell it as a 2013 homebuilt trailer.
But, it is too far away.

Last time I checked, the local metal recycler was paying 10 cents per pound for steel so the frame might be worth a few dollars.

In Central TX, freecycle or Craigslist will get rid of it fast. There is always someone else who might need some type of enclosed storage on their property, or at the least, they will torch it, cut the pieces up, and sell it for scrap.
