Patio rug blowing away?

We carry four empty water jugs on our camping trips. If the wind keeps blowing the patio rug we fill the jugs w/ water and put one on each corner. Works.

I use the plastic lids from coffee cans. Just nail them in flush in each corner with a large nail. Got the idea from a fellow camper.

We use the 'empty' milk cartons too. That said, some enterprising person could come up with a really great 'invention'.

I've thought of a tube made out of rubber or canvas, remember the old water bags we carried on the front of our cars for overheating crossing the desert?, that could be rolled up for easy storage and brought out and filled with water to weight down the rug. I'm thinking of something like those bright green hoses that sell for $19.95 only larger.....Dennis

I tried that to, but they both ended up empty.

Ours came with tent pegs to keep it in place. It has the same little metal rings as a tent that the pegs go through. The 9x18 mat has about 12 pegs so it doesn't move.

Between the picnic table and our chairs we are usually good but then again the wind never seems that bad.

Usually stake it down each corner. If that doesn't do it I start gathering rocks ๐Ÿ™‚

We use the nails and washers made for that. Much easier to store. Of course the places we stay at for long enough to use a patio rug don't have concrete pads.
