Went just across the state line from Arkansas into Oklahoma and bought our 5th wheel. Did not pay a penny in Oklahoma sales tax but paid 6.5% in sales tax for Arkansas when it was registered. I had 30 days to complete this.

We bought out of state. Had no issues with warranty work by local dealers.
They were glad to take it.

A dealer should know how to handle this, no problem. Call your county clerk if you have questions. I don't know if out of state dealers are required to collect TN sales tax or not. Probably are. Chances are the dealer will collect the sales tax and you will get temporary tags to drive home.
Be sure and contact your insurance agent ASAP.
If it's an individual, again, call the county court clerk. You definitely need to get the title and a bill of sale before you leave. You will pay the lovely TN sales tax when you go to register the RV.

As far as taxes are concerned, I mean. Missouri works that way, but I would hesitate to make a blanket statement like that, unless I've actually checked all states.
We bought ours out of our domicile state to get the best price and absolutely no problems getting any kind of warranty done as we traveled. You don't pay twice on taxes. You pay the difference between the two states.
Like someone said, if you're traveling and need something fixed you aren't going to drive back to your state to fix it and then continue on your trip. You get it fixed where you're at.

Be very careful about sales tax if you have it in your state. Depending on the circumstances you may have to pay twice.
Are you sure?
I'm pretty sure that all the states have laws and forms to ensure you don't get hit twice.
