Question about using Anderson levelers

I was all excited yesterday to find a pair of these curvy things at a thrift store for $6 each!

But then I got to thinking (in the middle of the night... as one does):

When I need to level my van, I usually need to raise two wheels, to DIFFERENT heights. easy to do with blocks. But how am I going to do it by myself, with the Andersons?

It seems like I would have to out one down, drive up on it a bit, then put the other one down. In the rain, late at night, after a long drive, with campers around me wishing I would hurry up, this sounds like a pain.

Is there another way? Am I missing something?

Ya, I suppose a van might be different...no tongue.

Maybe I am doing it wrong?

(This is in my van,not a trailer. The equivalent in a fiver, I guess would be to block under one wheel and adjust the tongue jack.... if you call it that on a 5er :)).

Got the Deluxe Anderson Level kit as a Christmas gift two years ago,, I use it all the time when I need to level, works great for us. Even on concrete and black top.. Have not had one slip yet!
Very simple to use and the carry bag is great for compact storage. If you got a good deal on them, try them out. If it works for you great! Did they come with the wedges that go under and lock the leveler in?
Met a guy who had them and put strips of Stair Tread anti slip tape on his,, Great idea but like I said I have not had one slip yet!

Here in Canada we can buy Recycled Rubber Stair Tread at home building supply stores like Home Depot, Lowes, RONA, etc ... available thickness varies from 1/2" to 1". Unfortunately Andersen Levelers, even if trimmed, just won't fit my Freedom Express 192RBS as the axle spread is so narrow. However, if I could have used them I'd park the Andersens on this rubber stair tread so they wouldn't slip and gain the advantage of increasing the Andersen's maximum lift. Win - Win. ๐Ÿ™‚

My heavy 5er broke so many Andersens I decided it wasn't working for me.

I'm not sure why you need your wheels at different heights.

Bought a set last year for use with our TT. It has made leveling a breeze.

Wow, it sounds like people's experiences vary a lot!

Width: The Andersons are about half the width of my van tires. Should I not use them for this reason? Or are they ok for overnights but not longer?

I can see how they would be challenging for MH but they work fantastic with our TT. After three years I finally quit taking along all the wood!
The only time they don't work is if were on wet grass - then they act like skies and just slide along.
The also wont work if your wheels are too close together as was the case with my buddies AF 25P.

Ours work great and can level the camper much quicker and more accurate than the plastic blocks. We have had them slip on us 2 or 3 times in the 15 times we used them so we still Cary the Lynx levelers which is a bummer.

If Andersen Levelers otherwise work so well for you why would you not simply first place the Andersens on a rubber pad to prevent slippage and forego the plastic blocks you seem to disdain so much? :h

I had those yellow/orange plastic blocks but they were too narrow for my Motorhome tires as they did not support the sidewalls. fine for under hydraulic levelers or for a TT tire however.

Use them on my dual axle fifth wheel and think they're great. Never had an issue.

Same here so much easier to use and saves so much time. Don't have to build a ramp and for me it's a one person job to set up and roll on need no help. Like them alot and wouldn't leave home without them!
