We tried glue traps. Snap traps are not something I want where kids and pets have access. And under the house is the same rotting rat problem.
It's a difficult situation! The rats may have babies they don't want to leave behind. I can try the one way door, but I realise they might just create another entrance.
My cat complicates things by hanging around the rat entrances.

Any ideas on how I can get the rats out, first?
We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

I like the ferret idea! Not sure the owners would take the risk, though, since poison has already been sprinkled around.
I was just thinking to myself that our problem was lack of predators (coyotes, anyone?) But did not realise ferrets hunt rats!
