What have you seen this year for wash and dry pricing?
For those that use the park laundry, was it clean?

Price where we are at now is .25 for 10 min. to dry and takes 3 to 4 quarters. Wash is $1.50 a load. and room and machines clean.

In a sense, the only time actually "spent" doing laundry is loading the washer, transferring to the dryer, folding and putting away the clothes. I don't count the time the machines are working as time spent doing laundry.

If you look at it my way, the time spent fooling with laundry with a built in machine vs the laundromat is nearly the same. The only difference is that we don't have to leave our home, can read, surf the web, watch TV, or do whatever else we can get away with in our RVs while waiting and, like you said, stay in our pajamas. Oh, and no need to leave the coach back and forth in inclement weather with a heavy load of laundry.

You said it all. Love my on board washer and dryer.

Indeed, the pinnacle of RV forum topics has finally been reached. I have to wonder how boring it must be to even consider such a matter!

However, to play along...
Whether you're paying $1.50, $1.75, $2.00, or $10.00, 2 questions come to mind:
1. What difference does it make to your finances?
2. Most importantly, what are you going to do about it?

Want to save money and not have to deal with those expensive sheets continually? Do as my buddy Les did, make the bed with 5-10 sheets at once. As the sheets get dirty, just peel one off. Les was able to go a couple of months with his layered process. :B

It takes me about 3 hours to do 3 loads of laundry with drying. That is not long on days we stay home anyway.

Always there.... I can do laundry in my pajamas, while watching TV or reading a book or cooking breakfast. Or laundry can run while I go to the grocery store.

Why why why can RV net or Open Roads make an easy way to post pictures? I know the pictures have to be on a web site someplace to get into a post on this forum... Would rather be able to copy and paste like all other forums.

Filling 4 commercial machines at once, and having a week's of laundry done in an hour, priceless.
And yes, always clean, never a problem.

I agree with the above. Consider the owner investment in the machines in these laundramats around the country. Then there is installation, maintenance, operating expenses, lights, gas, water, insurance. Then there is the building. Taxes, structure upkeep, rent, or if laundry owner owns the building then taxes, plus sales taxes and it goes on. So you go in with your wash and as mentioned above you use multiple machines to get it all done in a decent time frame and out you go for another week, 10 days, 2 weeks. Think about it! A bargain really. Your complaints have no legitimacy. Just a bunch of tight wads complaining about a business setup to serve you the public and make a profit for the owner/investor.

This makes me double thankful we have washer and dryer on board our 5th wheel. Ours are big size and does not take all day to wash or dry. Does a great job.

Last laundry was across the river from Quebec City and was $2 (CDN) to wash and $2.50/hour for dryers.

Nice little laundry room although the French speaking campers seemed to want to keep it for themselves.

The Canadian dollar was seventy-six cents U.S. at the time, so that is about the same as what others are talking about.

In Death Valley and many parts of the Southwest the clothes are dry as soon as they hit that hot dry air! ๐Ÿ™‚

We full-timed for 16 years using laundramats and didn't mind it at all. We never found them dirty.

Even if installing them would save money we would never want them. We do 2-3 weeks of laundry in 1-1/2 hours. We could never stand to do a tiny load every day. We also dry camped a lot for up to 10 days at a time. We would need to dump to be able to use them.

Laundry day was not an issue. We did other errands that day - groceries, etc. then we were finished for another 2-3 weeks.

All full-timers definitely do not have the equipment in their RVs - at least our friends don't.
