Yup, got what you mean. Bottom line is to keep the sun off of them as much as possible. Trailer tires don't move as much as regular vehicles, and so are subject to dry rot. Sun accelerates that, so any way you cover them is fine; expensive or cheap covers, plywood, heck, even an old table cloth...Just keep the rays of as much as possible, even better if you keep them rolling! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks to the help. To make it clear, I bought new set of tires plus spare (5) total. Spare is riding in storage box below. Reason for questions is I am new to RV's, the old ones I had was dated 2005 if I read right, had splits in center of tread, my trailer is a 2006 model.

Read that it is best to keep out of sunlight when not using. Not sure
why it is worst for trailer tires than cars? Also not to put armor all stuff on them as well.

Since I dropped some $$$ on them want to protect my investment. So looking to those who use them or not or make their own for suggestions?

As to different brand names, like everything else out there, more than 1 brand, maybe better quality?

Maybe this helps to understand question.
Thanks

I also use the Arco. The only issue I have had is they were a little too short so I sewed a strip of sunbrella fabric to the bottom. I have only had them for three years but they look like new.

I had one tire cover stolen, go figure never replaced it, had two up front and one on left rear, right rear was not covered I Figured that the cat house and the awning would protect it enough, boy was I wrong the tire that blew the side wall?

Yeah you guessed it the right rear out side, the one that was not covered, finally bought new covers with the new tires.

I use Adcos on both my truck and trailer. They are three years old and are holding up great. I can attest they are good quality because last Saturday I took the truck to town to get diesel. I got to the end of our road and I see my son chasing me down. I forgot to remove the wheel covers. Dumb a$$. Two fell off but two went for a 1800' ride. Not one tare in any of them and no worse for the wear. Watch Camping World they will have buy one get one free sales on them.

Been using the Adco covers for years and years. Didn't know there was much choice in tire covers. Other than these kind, I've only ever seen the sun shade material and plywood.

Based on the OP's statement, "just bought a new set", and the reference to "them", I made the assumption that he was looking for tire covers for a new set of tires. I could be wrong, maybe he bought a new set of spares. If so, he would be searching for a different type of cover.

Now that I am done being a smarta$$; I am also interested in purchasing a quality set of covers.

Maybe you can address the OP's question, since you didn't either.

At least I asked for clarification, before attempting an answer.

I use a set of Adco's I got probably 8 or 9 years ago. They're finally showing their age and pretty cracked, but still serve the purpose. Think I got them bogo and have been very pleased. I use them whenever we're not camping.
