Unusual Request

All,
I am reaching out for a rather unusual request and am hoping someone here can help. This September, my wife will be donating a kidney to her sister. We live in Colorado and her sister lives in Massachusetts. We will need to stay in Massachusetts for up to three months for the operation and follow up. We will then be full timing when she has recovered. What I am looking for is anybody that has a place on the east coast where snow and ice is unlikely that might have room for our 37โ€™ Suncruiser for a few months. We do not want to drive the MH from Massachusetts south in late December or January for obvious reasons and we need to vacate our current apartment in Colorado by October or sign a new lease.

If anyone has space, land, etc. that they would not mind allowing us to use for a few months we would greatly appreciate it. We can pay a small amount if that makes a difference. Please PM me.

Thanks

Thanks all. We now have a date and a plan. We will be in MA for 3 weeks in September and then come back home to Colorado. We will not have to find a place for the MH after all. Thanks for all the people that offered their assistance and thanks more for your thoughts on this upcoming procedure. I will update once we have completed the kidney transfer and she is back home.

A couple of place to try: www.passportamerica.com click on discount parks. Good Sam may be able to find you a park.
As others say talk with the hospital they may be able to make some arrangements for you.
Wait until the weather breaks after she is allowed to travel and make a run for the south. Most major interstate highway are open and clean within hours of a storm. You could stop and hold up in say Wal-Mart or other large lots. If you hug the coast I-95 you should not have much trouble going south.
If your compartments basement are heated you will be ok all the way south.

God bless your wife for her help for her sister.

Just a little info for you to consider. The east coast is not like Colorado. There are very few times we get storms where there is still snow on the main roads the next day. If you winterize your unit you should be safe to start it up and head south from almost anywhere from Mass south with at most a day or two delay, if you happen to be ready to travel when a storm comes up the coast. Just a suggestion that may open up more options for you.

Emzee - Thanks for the kind words. We do not intend to live in the MH while she is recovering. The doctor insists we be in the Massachusetts area during recovery and first follow up. We wanted to "stage" the MH somewhere where we could get to it after recovery and out of the snow and freeze lines.

Bless your wife for doing this. My prayers that all goes well for everyone. I sure hope someone has some room to share with you. Did you say you were going to be living in the coach while your wife get better? If so maybe finding an RV park would be a good idea. It will have the hook ups you'll need etc. In any case I wish you all the best.

Pecan Park RV Resort in Jacksonville has storage. Not sure about the price. Lots of RV parks in the south offer storage. If I had room, I would certainly offer you a place to park.
We are not members, but the Elks Club has many locations that have RV hookups or parking. They are a service organization and might be willing to help if you joined their organization. Thoughts and prayers are with your family. http://www.elks.org/lodges/LocalFacilities.cfm#script_name#

you are asking for a place to store your RV, not to live in it? ie. drop it off and get a hotel/motel/etc. in mass? VA and NC can get hammered with snow (winter hurricane) and bad icing on the roads.

Thanks for the replies. I would be open to Georgia, the Carolina's, Florida, etc. Anywhere that we could actually leave from and not have to worry about being ice or snow bound. Since I was asking for a big favor, I did not want to appear picky.
