Water Hose Storage

Does anyone have any good ideas of how to store your water hose? We have always put it in a clean garbage bag, but I would like something that is clean and can be sealed that is dedicated just to our hoses. We have tried various size plastic boxes, but there is always too much wasted space in them to make them worthwhile.

Screw the ends together, stick it in the same plastic tote with the water filter and 50 amp electric cord.

My fresh water hose and dump hose are stored in compartments on opposite sides of the RV. Its not about being paranoid about cleanliness, its just that's the way they have always been stored. And yes, just put the ends together to keep out the grunge.

I'll try that no-kink method next time I do my water hose and let you know how it works. I hope it does! I hate wrestling with kinked hoses!

Here is how I do it:

  1. Coil the hose, using this "no kink" method: Video.

  2. Screw the ends together.

  3. Secure the coil with one of those bungee cords with a plastic ball.

  4. Store the coil in a plastic tote bin along with the accessories.

The video shows coiling a microphone cord but it also works with hoses, coaxial cables, extension cords, etc.

Not sure why you feel the need to store these hoses in some sort of ultra clean environment when not in use. When they're in use they lay on the ground with bugs, birds and whatever doing whatever they do to them.

Just coil it up, loosely connect the ends and put it a storage compartment.

That certainly will work and is a good option. I've got several hoses, adapters, water thief, etc, and keep in all in a small bin with snap top.

That's what I use; one for the fresh water and one for the dump hose.

X5, X6 or X7, but that is the best way to store your hoses.
