If the wind blows the shade cloth too hard you can stretch some wire fencing up and then shade cloth over it. Father-in-law did that for his nursery business years ago.

I had the same problem even though I had a 6 1/2 foot fence the sun would still beat on the side of the Trailer. I planted Arborvitae's but they won't be tall enough to do any good for a few years. So, I used shade cloth. I got it at Lowes it is only 6' wide but you can roll of any length you want' It filters about 70% of the sun and has been up over a year now.
