My wife and I don't understand. We are staying at a nice rv park filled with nice rv's. We watched a man get out of his perfictly nice class C and go use the parks public shower. I know everyone is different and I am not judging his action. We just don't get why you would use a public facility when you have your own?

A shower can add quite a bit of heat and moisture into a camper. In our HTT, we are very aware of those levels and manage it carefully with ventilation and AC usage.

We use our bathroom and shower when we want and don't when CG facilities are more convenient.

Personally, I don't see any reason to be offended by a legitimate question. The OP asked "why" and got lots of valid responses. No problem.

With all this banter going on I am left wondering, Why not just build RV's with and without Bathrooms? I haven't seen any myself other than specific trailers or RV's for horses, etc but usually every TT/MH/PU has some sort of bathroom service built in and what a good added space idea if you could opt out of having a bathroom if you are of those who relish the CG facilties.

You like using the camp shower? Good for you.
I like using the one in my rig. Good for me.

When looking to purchase a rig the first thing I do is check the bath to make sure it is large enough and comfortable.

To each their own.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

When we travel we try to stop at public campgrounds. We fill the fresh water 1/3 full 20gal that's enough for 3 days travel for wife and myself IF I USE THE CAMPGROUND SHOWER, DW showers in the 5er. We're coming from full hook up and will be back on them so we hitch up if we unhitched, pass any dump line and back on the road.
I have heard a few say the shower was too small.

I use both the 5ver shower and the campground shower depending on my mood and timing of my shower. Sometimes I just like a little more room so I use the campground shower. Sometimes I don't feel like dumping the grey water with the blue tote as frequently so I use the campground shower. sometime my wife or another family member wants a shower around the same time that I do so I go to the campground shower. It's strictly a personal preference and based on my mood and/or circumstances at the time. I don't see it as a big deal!!

Wrong.

Someone made a BIG PUBLIC post CHASTISING someone.

Being observant- No foul!

An averstion to the camp shower- No foul!

Publicly telling me I'm wierd for using the camp shower- BINGO...

Now let's dig deeper- just because they used one of these (?) doesn't make everything cool.

"I don't understand why someone would use the camp shower?" No foul.

But:

Why would you do that? (accusation).

Why leave a perfectly good camper? (a jab).

I just don't get it. (more jabs).

Shower threads occur from time to time- There's some really good reasons to use camp showers and some really good reasons not to.

how dare you look around you or pay attention to the world around you, don't you know you are suppose to keep your ears covered and eyes closed in a campground!!!! you might violate some bonehead's sense of privacy by sitting outside your unit and seeing him/her walk by to go to whatever.... and then,,, how dare you ask a simple question of something that made you curious just to get a few opinions.....(kidding)

LOL

some people,,,, and not the OP,, need to grow up a little,

OP ask anything you want about anything you are curious about, and tell anyone who is negative to you to for asking to F*** O**

Why use the parks questionable electric when you have your own 100% safe generator???

If the electric is questionable, you are in the wrong Parks. Go to better quality CGs and Resorts. ๐Ÿ™‚ Why waste your own gas and pollute the air running a noisy smelly generator when you can use the CG's electricity which is included in the site charge? Again, the electricity is questionable - go somewhere else.

So why don't all of you just take out your shower and install something that would make sense to you? Wow...

We bought our fifth wheel with a full bathroom so we could use it...whether we have hookups or not

You haven't been paying attention. ๐Ÿ™‚ Why should people take it out when they can use it when they have full hookups and/or public baths are not available? I would never remove our shower. Also, not everyone has a 100 to 200 gal graywater tank and spouses and kids who will take "Navy showers" and not fill the tank every day. Do you enjoy hauling the "blueboy" to the dump station daily? Most people don't. One teenager with long hair can waste 30g of water taking a shower.

as others have stated, bigger showers, unlimited hot water, don't have to wipe it all dry when I'm done. But if we're on full hookups, I'd rather just use my own because I like to shower in the evening and put my nightgown on afterward.

I have seen women leave the bathhouses in their nightgowns and robes and men in their jammies, sometimes with a robe also. No one seemed to think anything of it.

There are several reasons. If there are no sewer hookups they wont want to have to dump their tanks every few days. That gets old fast. And no one enjoys cleaning the shower stall and tub after use - usually the wife's job. The public showers, almost always clean these days, are larger and there is a lot more hot water available. Nothing to clean up afterward - shower and leave. I myself only use the shower in our RV if we have full hookups, otherwise it's the public showers.

There is not much we can do about the national debt.. but my guess is the O/P does not have a shower and had to wait for a resident of a class A before he could take one so he's wondering why the Class-a-er did not "Shower at home".

If he had his own Shower.. he'd know the answer and not be asking.

Trillions of dollars in national debt and we're discussing showers in our rv's. This is hilarious!!:B
