You need to post year/brand/chassis. If older than 20 years and has a Gas Ford or GM chassis, it probably has aftermarket Cruise and some of those you can adjust the "speed" setting up or down. Doug
It is a 93 454 in a thor pinnacle.GM chassis. You can adjust it to increase speed from the cab but not decrease.

When you say you can increase from the "cab" what do you mean????? Do you rotate the left hand turn signal lever??? If so, you have an "Escort " type cruise and the Indent for the 55 mph is set at the control board below the drivers dash by the steering column. This type system is preset for the end button push to engage. The regular setting was for 55 mph (National speed limit back then). You drove 55 mpg and set the end button and then adjusted the wheel adjustment on the main board until it stayed at 55 mph. You then turned the turn signal knob one way to increase your speed and the other way to decrease your speed. Doug
I think i understand what your talking about.I never could understand why i had to play with rotating the turn signal before i would get any reaction from the cruise.I sometime will push the button at the end and nothing will happen but if i rotate the turn signal the cruise will work. When i finnally get it to respond it will always go 5mph faster than what i set it for.I have never tryed to rotate the turn signal to see if it will speed up or slow down from their.I know if i push the button at the end where you set it at it will speed up.

I know on older models there should be a 1/8 inch gap at the point where the cruise cable attaches to the throttle linkage, without this gap it would set too high.
