Propane tanks don't need re-certification as they are ASME jurisdiction/standards!!
Propane cylinders under DOT have to be re-certification done 12 yrs after mfg. date stamped on collar and then every 5, 7 or 12 yrs depending on type of re-certification (External Visual, Proof-Pressure or Volumetric Expansion)
Propane BULK dealers can do re-certifications----certified by DOT for as a 'requalifier'
Some propane fill stations can do it IF they have been certified by DOT as a 'Visual' inspector
