I found a truck with nearly all I want.
The dealer is asking $30,988

33,000 miles
Equipment Group 302A/XLT Series
18" wheels with all terrain tires
3.73 electronic lock axle
Max Tow Package-11,000lbs tow capacity
36 gallons tank
145" wheelbase

Thing is, it was made for Canadian market. The dealer brought it over to the US.

Would love opinions on the truck and the asking price.

Yep, can't wait to tow the TT.
It should be a big improvement over the Avalanche.

Put the relay and fuse for charging the trailer battery while towing.
Also ordered a pair of CIPA tow mirrors.

The only thing that I'll miss about the Avy, will be the Midgate.
It allowed me to load longer things, even with the short bed.

The thing I'm pissed at the dealer right now, is that they only gave me one key. Claimed that was all they got at the auction.
And they want over $250 for a second one. And you need two programmed keys to make a spare.
To pay that much and only get one key, is wrong. I'm going to talk to someone higher up.

Really sharp looking truck. You are going to like the power of the 3.5L EcoBoost and with the 36 gallon tank you have a good range. My truck is the preferred road trip rig as it rides quiet and comfortable.

Good luck to you,

Well, i decided to go for it.
brought it home Saturday.

made a little headway price-wise but it all came down to it had everything i wanted.
and it was the closest orange color truck i could get to my Sunburst Orange Avalanche. Sunset Metallic. not a very common color in the F150.

500lbs more payload, way more towing capacity, 4x4, all the newer electronic bling, LT tires, more interior room, Ecoboost engine, 18" rims, Hill Assist, 36 gallon tank, backup camera, Reverse Sensing System, integrated brake controller and much more.

the salesman had told me that another guy had seen it the day before.
while i was sitting there, doing the paperwork, the guy called wanting to buy it. the salesman told them that it had just been sold.

Told me their Internet price was rock bottom.

I'd love to have the truck but I refuse to believe that it's not negotiable.
We have the cash, which is a negative since they make money on the financing.

Compare it to other comparables; maybe its a good deal.

If you like the truck and can live with the price, go for it. That is unless you can find something similar for less $$

Be advised, that is the "asking price", and is always a bit high so there is some wiggle room to bargain.

Nice truck though, and to those that think the price is high, price a new one with the same features, probably getting close to $50K.

My 97 F150 was "imported" from Canada for sale in the US. It had a normal speedo and the ODO was reset from KM to miles. Also, the DRL was disabled, or disconnected, because They didn't turn on automatically.

At any rate, CarFax had the mileage as some 90,000 miles... Well, that was KM's! It had around 62,000 miles on the ODO when I bought it in 2001.

At any rate, I had the import paper work and the state inspection paperwork that stated the ODO conversion was done, so not a big deal.

Sounds pretty much like my truck, except mine is the SuperCab with the 6.5' bed. I've got #1900 payload, so pretty much the same deal.

I bought mine brand new in Jan 2014 with 56 miles on it.. $38k out the door (sticker price was $43k)

Good luck!

Seems a bit high, your offer is fair IMO, BUT you (and I) are living in one of the hottest economies if not the hottest in the country right now. Couple that with cheap fuel and the demand for big trucks and SUVs, great deals are very few and far between compared to other areas or other decades.
I used to "drive for free" for years by buying a newer used truck that was a great deal and only driving it until the next screaming deal was found and then selling for the same or more as purchased. Those days have been gone for 6-7 years.
I'd say Al gore is partly to blame too for inventing the interwebs, lol. Now every shmuck selling a beat up old pos can search endlessly on line and see ALL the vehicles like his for sale and automatically thinks his c rap bomb is worth what every dealer is asking for a similar vehicle, which is way more than his old junk is worth.....But that proliferates thru the entire market and now suddenly, everyone "knows" what their vehicle is worth even if they don't know how to check the oil, hence higher prices across the board.

With the low miles and all the best options you're unfortunately right in the ball park I'd say.

๐Ÿ™‚ Hi, other than the Canadian part and a slightly higher payload ( mine is 1745 lbs.) this truck is almost exactly like mine. Mine even has similar mileage too. I think the price is good if it is mostly what you want. You can find a lot of other trucks and for less, but they don't have the tow options that I would want.

yeah, it's the Sunset Metallic. i have a Sunburst Orange Avalanche, so i'm partial to the orange color.

i offered them $30k out the door, so if they accept, it should mean getting the truck for around $26k-$27k, which i'll be happy with.
it has everything i wanted, except for the HD Payload option, which is very hard to find.
anything less will have lower payload or more mileage or both.

The latest craze is to buy the used trucks in Canada and import them to sell here. They must get one hell of a deal on them to do it. The one I was looking at didn't work out. I researched the truck heavily one night because I didn't want a mine truck. It turned out to be a mine truck after I read between the lines of the registration renewal locations. Probably why the dealer never called me back with the info I requested.

What does that truck sticker for new? North is 40 I bet, I would offer 25k.
