WE bought the 2015 Dbl Cab Chevy 2500HD last year ... one minor tuning issue repaired under warranty at about 1000 miles. Got 15,000 on it now and the only thing we're done is the free oil changes. Runs great, hauls great, made one several months trip to the Rockies, never an issue.
I know, ain't a 1500, but still - GM built it, and we have no issues.
And, I've always believed the 1500 is underpowered for a truck ... cars are built for MPG, trucks are built to work. IMHO

GM makes good trucks.
I think this entire thread is pointless without any real facts/proof/evidence.

When a post starts out "I heard" or "Someone told me" you just have to cringe a little.
As well as "take it with a grain of salt" because it's probably here-say of some sort.

I heard a major problem in these trucks is when your kids are individually streaming movies on your 4G hotspot and use all the free 3 Gigs of data.

Never listen to these consumer magazines when it comes to trucks or sporty cars. They hate every thing that doesn t get 35 MPG. I won t rely on the opinions of some granola crunching hippy when it comes time to purchasing any vehicle.
