Hey guys and gals I have a new 2016 F-350 crew cab and I'd like to remove the rear center headrest. I have to lay the rear seat down to see my 5th wheel hitch when hooking up. I thought it would just pull up and out but it doesn't have you removed yours? HELP !!!!!!!! LOL

Mine slid right out too. The hardest part was finding the release tab and getting my fingers in there to release it. I leave it out all the time. I hated looking in the rearview and seeing the headrest.

The trick on my 12 was to find the release button.

Same here, store it in storage compartment under seat.

I had mine out, but I found that it was easier to hitch with it in. I line it up with the pin box using the rear view mirror. It makes the hitch pin and the hitch lined up perfectly dead center.

On my 2015 350 just push your fingers under the bottom of the headrest and feel for the release buttons, each side then force your hands up with the rest until it comes out. Climb in the seat facing the headrest the button for your right hand will be on the outside edge of the shaft and for your left hand it will be on the inside. No need to fold down seat.

My sig. truck XLT....just slid up and out. I'm not sure why yours would be different. We are talking about the center, not sure if the outside seats are harder. But it was easy to remove.

I leave mine off, works great for hitching.

Not sure, but we did find a u tube video on unlatching the back seat and removing the headrest on my 2013 F150 crew. I would try there.

It's a PITA, but follow owners manual. I leave mine out all the time unless we have a rear center passenger (rare). I cannot see hitch anyways (too low in bed). Once headrest is out, I put behind the seat w/ spare fuel filter, portable oil (fuel oil in this case) pan w/ lid, and few other odds/ends.

Perhaps this will help. It sounds as it's a 2-person job.
