๐Ÿ˜ž As of today, I am no longer a truck owner. I will keep it as my pic to cry over when I log in. For the record, it is as a result of a divorce. Child support payments are more of a priority than truck payments. I am now the (not so proud) owner of a 2002 Chevy Malibu (with 59,000 miles on it) that I picked up. No payments on that one, and it is very cheap to operate and drives just fine.

I'll be tenting it for a few years.....

On a positive note, although I downgraded vehicles, I upgraded companions. My new gal is beautiful, kind and makes me happier than any vehicle could. So - no stress! ๐Ÿ™‚

It's not a death in the family guys, it's moving on with your life so.........as my sig says......

so as to have the life that is waiting for us."

I kicked my planned life to the curb and hit the road RV'ing. Haven't been happier!

Good Luck on your next phase of your new life. :C

Current (and last) wife and I both love the camping life.
We are both 2nd timers and we were both married 8 years before. We have been together nearly 20 years.

Divorce isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it is just two people that made a mistake together. Support your kids no matter what.

Best wishes to you IB.

The kids are the most important and I am glad you are making them the priority.

I had a 99 Malibu.. Great car... got great MPG's... nothing wrong with car camping.. nothing at all.

Try to find a way to enjoy your new life... sounds like you are well on your way.

Thanks friend,

Jeremiah

Hang in there man..... there is life (and toys :)) after divorce. My first marriage ended in divorce and looking back 15 years it's been overall okay.

Above all else, our son has turned out great. He's now 16, has a 3.5 GPA, a job, drives, and gets along great with my 2nd wife and 3 young siblings. His mom and my relationship is/was bumpy at times along the way but overall functional. My best advice is to swallow huge helpings of pride and remember what's best for your kids.

Looking back there were some blessings in disguise. During times I had my son I made it a point to clear all other things from my schedule and focus on spending time with him. This worked out great and I ended up getting more quality time with him than I otherwise would have.

I kind of understand I had to sell my Harley when my wife lost her job so I could replace a primary vehicle as I had my 3 year old at the time. The good news is vehicles come and go, good partners and kids should last a long forever.

I hope the next chapter in your life returns good blessings and happiness.

So glad you are back on your feet with a sound set of decisions (managing your
regrets) indicative of traditional family values

Also glad you are back here and as said during my divorce (+34 yes of marriage)
This and a few other sites were part of what saved my sanity...therapeutic in
many ways

I'm more of a tent camper and dependent on who is going with me and where going...
