Camping in the rain

It's raining with thunder and lightning today here. Has anyone camped in the pouring rain on purpose? ?? maybe I'm a sick puppy, but I think sequestered in a TT with my favorite girl and maybe an adult beverage or two in the rain sounds good to me. Perhaps a ball game on the tv. Maybe some people never grow up...lol. Maybe a good way to check for leaks......

You're being too generous with our length of summer. I always hope summer will land on a weekend each year.

I think you've noticed the trend in replies from those of us near Seattle.... When ISN'T it raining?

Winter - cold rain
Summer - rain is warmer

Winter - socks with sandals
Summer - no socks :B

:B

More specifically:

September through July- socks with sandals
August- no socks

Any day, raining or not is better in my moho or sitting under the awning. Love the sound of rain on the roof.

How about a TC popup in the rain? If the storm gets too violent crank the top down and enjoy it. Nice if you know every joint has been caulked before the event. Been waiting for years for that to happen in Arizona.

It's a good time to go fishing in the rain. The fish don,t seem to mind a little extra H2O, why should I. LOL K

We to have camped plenty of times in the rain with our TC. I put out the side awning with the chairs (uptight against the truck) & we stay pretty comfy with our fav bev.
That's why we special ordered the side awning for our new 1050s coming because I don't think having just the rear one would always cut it. If it gets to nasty & have to let the awning down, then we just go inside. Its all fine, what can you do? stay home, nah I don't think so!

The best thing about being in a camper in the rain is thinking of all the people out there in tents. Been there, done that.

Since I always drop the camper, we found that chairs under the camper cabover works as a great porch.

Loved reading y'alls rain stories! We've had many rain adventures when we had the PU... always an opportunity to see something from a different perspective.

This sailing trip was forecast for rain, but we watched three different Fourth of July fireworks shows from this location ten hours before this pic was taken:

There is nothing like the pitter-patter of rain on the roof and awning.

Being holed up in my camper always reminds me of being in a fort when I was a kid. But my camper is the best fort I ever could have imagined. I would still rather be camping in the rain than not camping.
