Here's a trick I learned from home decorating/design shows. If you look at most homes, the guest bedroom and guest bathroom will be in colors/styles that are NOT what the homeowner is most comfortable with. Those are the rooms that get the "experimental" treatment - because as the homeowner, you aren't forced to live in it 24/7/365.
I used that thought for my RV. Because my preferred style at home is cool mid to dark neutral colors, I chose warm bright color accents for the RV. This has made the RV a bright little corner in my shadowy world.
I added color through throw blankets covering the seats, contact paper to cover the dinette table, aluminum signs for the walls, bath towels, bed linens, kitchen linens, etc.
One thing I did that has gotten a very positive response from visitors was to add fringe trim from the ceiling.
