Diesel price war

Local Stations are now charging .10 to .20 cents less for diesel than for Regular unleaded Gasoline.

This developed over a very short time. Not sure what caused it.

Stations actually have posted 'diesel price war' next to their signs.

Not sure where you are but we were happy campers yesterday that we switched from Diesel to Gas on the latest truck. $2.15/gal for gas vs $2.80/gal for diesel in Michigan.

Diesel has more BTU than gas for the same volume, so it equalizes.

Correctamundo. As I recall the general rule is that as long as diesel is no more then 33% more expensive then gas, you come out ahead running diesel.

Average price for diesel around Kitsap and King county is $2.49 - $2.69 However the Fred Meyer had diesel yesterday for $1.63. Thought it was a misprint, but it wasn't and I got another 3 cents off since I have a Fred Meyer card.

Diesel had to reduce sulfur in the mid 2000 and one of the reason diesel now cost more then gas is refining cost. In 2016/17 EPA has required gas to reduce the sulfur content by 66% and many predict that it raise gas price over the price of diesel.

Regular Gas was 1.79 and Diesel was 1.99 yesterday the only catch was had to pay cash.

Just yesterday out in Damascus (about 20 miles SE of Portland) I saw diesel for 2.09 and regular about .20 more. I'd like to get some credit for all this since I sold my Duramax in March of 2014 and went back to gas. Pretty much the day I did that the price of diesel started hovering around gas and is now sometimes even lower.

Since diesel is basically the same as home heating oil, over production from the harsh winter in the east is the likely cause. Out west fuel prices have steadily risen to around 2.75 for gas and close to three dollars for diesel.

My neck of Oregon about $2.59 for diesel, about a dime less for gas

Was in your "neck of the woods" last week (Dallas, OR) to do a pick-up, on my way back to Pendleton for another TT. Stopped at pilot in Spokane $3,15/gal for diesel... went down the road instead! That was redonkulous! Going to make a detour on Wednesday, to McMinnville to the Evergreen Museum. I'm going to see the Spruce Goose...maybe don my speedo thong and make a splash at the water park...oh just checked water park will be closed... good thing wouldn't want the frighten the ladies. :B

Diesel is roughly $0.30/gallon more than gas at two nearby Exxon and Shell stations.

Perhaps we have so many diesel trucks that demand for diesel is still strong therefore the prices is higher here.
