I wouldn't count on that when planning any trips you may want to take ... no one gets 15.3 mpg when towing a trailer the size of yours with a 1/2 ton gasser ... no one. :W

I took you guys advice! Picked up the Keystone Outback last Thursday, watched um install the Equal-i-zer Hitch and WOW it towed great, came down I-75, Chattanooga to Atlanta, middle of rush hour, DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS BACK THERE! The TUNDRA never over heated, averaged 15.3 mpg!

My good Brothers, I AM SATISFIED!

Thanks so much for all the info, my buddy uses one (an EQUAL-I-ZER) and said it made a lot of difference in his towing. I just bought a Keystone Outback, towing with a Tundra, the last time I towed in 2007 it was with a F250-- 7.3 and I towed a fifth wheel, I never towed a TT and was just trying to make sure the dealer sold the right hitch...

THANKS AGAIN!

๐Ÿ™‚ Hi, I have used my Equal-I-zer brand hitch for eleven years. I have not worn out, broken, or replaced any parts. Bracket Jackets makes them quieter.

i have the e2, and i love it. so easy to hook up, and performs really well. yea there's popping and clicking and sharp turns, especially when reversing/steering into a spot, but its pretty brief, and expected. obviously im driving, not sleeping, so a little noise doesnt bother me.

Using my second one now. Great job reducing sway and distributing weight. You don't even feel the trucks go by. Very simple to use once initially set up. Noise decreases over time.

We had the Equalizer for 10 years with our old trailer. Once it was set up correctly it worked very well but was noisy. We sold the hitch with the trailer and we when bought our Jayco we bought a Blue Ox Sway Pro and love it. So much easier to set up than the equalizer and way quiter. Head to head I would go with the Blue Ox.

Equal-i-zer owner here too, going on 3 years now. Prior Reese with chains owner but when needed to change, went with the Equal-i-zer 4 point.

Yea, it popped and made some noise initially. I got the pads and it quieted down. After 3 years of towing, I very seldom hear any popping or noise any more. I expected the pads to rub down to nothing, but they are definitely holding up quite well.

Very easy to hitch up. I would not want to go back to a standard Reese style with the chains and separate friction sway bar.

I went from the chain type to an Equalizer 3 years ago. It was a good move...

Fast hook up and I'm very comfortable while pulling.

I love my Equil-I-zer E2 hitch. It works great, love the bars and love the fact that there are no chains. The noise does not bother me, kind of like it. Generally only hear it when pulling out of the driveway and backing into the site, only time I have the window open.

I know that I have owned two of them and would buy again. They are definitely one of the most popular two or three hitch systems.

Do you have questions about them?

I did not care for the equalizer because of the noise. They are however quite popular.

The above referenced noise will greatly decrease once there is some wear on the bars. Equal-i-zer is a great hitch, with good weight distribution and sway control. Well worth the money.

You do have to read the directions and set it up correctly.

As mentioned, if it's an Equalizer hitch then it ISN'T an EQUAL-I-ZER 4 way system!!!

What do you want to know...Equal-i-zer brand hitch is widely used and well proven. It has been around a long time. It incorporates both weight distribution and sway control (basically friction).

My wife hated ours because it was so noisy...it pops, snaps, creaks and screeches.

Good hitch, can't really go wrong with one once it's set up correctly.

Also look at Reece Dual Cam and Blue Ox Sway Pro.

Also look at the Reese SC system. Very, very similar design to the 4 way system, but the SC uses a replaceable brake pad like material that the bars ride on instead of just the metal on metal. The Reese hitch head (same for both the Dual Cam and SC) does offer a little more fine tuning for the wd bar adjustment vs the Equal-I-Zer system, but you can't go wrong with any of them!!!

The Reese systems do allow changing out the wd bars for different rated bars for easy trailer changes. The Equal-I-Zer system does not allow that unfortunately.
