Hi all,

Just wondering. If you had to replace your Excursion, what would you get?

There was a time when I needed a 5th wheel/GN capability so I sold mines and replaced it with a F250 I always wished I hadn't sold it. It was my 2nd one first being a V10 that I had to go through the chassis with repairs then a 6.0l that I had gone through engine. Both trucks performed well after repairs/updates. I had several 3/4 and 1 tons crew cabs but none has the interior space of the Ex. I have been casually looking for a replacement so hopefully one day I can find the 3rd.

I would replace it with another V-10 EX, then I would duplicate all of the same mods I have done to my current EX. The replacement would be the same age as my current wagon, so it's not like I would be moving backwards.

K9, oh yeah that's a $20k truck aroun here all day if it's good shape, 100k mi and a gasser.
Add more if it's lower miles or a low miles 7.3.
Best bang for buck Excursions now are 6.0s but even those with the suspect engine aren't cheap because the fix isn't horribly expensive compared to the other options available.
Btw, had a bud I snowmachined with that put a 12valve Cummins in his Excursion. Sweet truck and dead reliable after that.

I'm sure that they will offer it with the diesel option being they are gearing it toward the towing community. Bringing back a couple other models also that have been dropped from production.

Well if you wait a bit, I read an article that stated Ford is bringing back the Excursion but in an alum body.

Ford will corner the market!
Not THAT hard to do the tooling to put a carryall body on a HD chassis. With the huge upswing in HD sales in recent years, it's foolish that one of the big 3 hasn't already done this. A real OE Duraburb, excursion, or MegaRamcharger would sell in a big way.
The old Excursion option is about gone. Not many left in good shape comparatively speaking. Neighbor just gave well over $20k for a gasser Excursion with just under 100kmi on it. For a 12 year old gasser! Now it's a nice rig but, that shows the market. He's not even a truck guy but would have gone and dropped $50+ for a new one if he could have.

Wow I paid around 20K for mine used in 03 with 29K on it. That is a good return if I can sell it for around the same price after nearly 14 years of use and 72K miles.
To answer the original question Id probably replace it with a cab and chasis flat bed. Ill only have one kid at home in a few months and dont need all the seats.

Starting at $79,715....HOLY ****! I would bet someone would pay it.

And to boot, you can't just go buy one and it's still weak sauce compared to the current crop of pickups! Smells like a govt subsidized model......

Yep! And exactly why clean, low mile, Excursions (or 3/4 ton burbs for that matter) will always demand a premium!

This is 4wd, and comes with the 4.10 rear axle. I wish they offered this combo on the Express. It could be $30k cheaper.

It was my understanding that Chevy did away with the 3/4 ton Suburbans several years ago.
