F150 ?

Hi folks I have an F450 for my heavy towing but I am going to get me a F150 for a daily driver will tow a small utility trailer at times with lawn mower. My question for you folks with experience with light trucks is which engine and which rear end ratio would you recommend?

Does it have to be an f150?

For a daily driver with some towing needs the AWD Ford Edge with 3500 lb towing capacity makes for a nice set up. The Explorer 4x4 is nice too with even greater capacity. (I'm partial to towing with SUV's right now)

The new Ram 4x4 with the 3.6 Pentastar will get you 23 highway MPG, 8 speed, and about 7500 lb toeing.

But if your heart is set on the F150 the EcoBoost 4x4 would be my choice.

I say either the Ecobooost or 5.0 with 3.73 gears.. Then the only decision you will have is whether you want the rumble of a V8 or a whisper quiet V6 with the pleasant sound of those twin turbos whistling.. ๐Ÿ™‚

5.0 V8 with the 3.55 gears is a good all around daily driver with decent towing capacity.

all of my Ford F150 trucks have been the 5.4V8 with 3.73 gears... A great setup... TOLLS my 4000lb OFF-ROAD POPUP and still gets 19-20MPH. Have seen as high a 22MPH and as low as 18MPH.

Has lots of power...

Sorry, I was just fooling with you... That engine is not very popular here in NH as well as 2 wheel drive. It's easy to forget that other parts of the country have different needs than us.

Yesterday, I had a young lady say to me, "WOW! you got one them new FISO... I love the styling, where did you get?" I looked at her in bewilderment and said "Hum, What?" She pointed to the Badge on the side of the truck... "FISO" The sad point is; she wasn't even a blond.
