Fiberglass campers

Whats your opinion on Scamp, Casita, Escape and the like type campers. When i up grade i'm looking for a quality camper.

We currently own a KZ 17RBS love the camper but its not likely a camper that will last for year to come.

At 60 yrs. old i want to by one more camper that will last.

I believe Northwoods and Outdoors RV have owners that are related as I have heard the owner/founder of Outdoors RV's last name is Nash......Anyway, I have a CreekSide 20fq and we are real happy with it. I think it has lots of great features for the money. I think it kind of boils down to what you are willing to part with to get something else. CreekSide comes with a freakin' 66 gallon water tank, LED's everywhere, shocks, now with dual pane windows, awning, a/c, nice cabinet doors, best of all a 2" welded aluminum frame with laminated walls. All nice features but it's still made on an assembly line and like most any RV on an assembly line that's not an Airstream or Bigfoot it has some issues with fit and finish. Mine was $26,000.00 out the door and we had 300w of Solar included in that which really makes boon docking great. I have added a lot of "goodies" to make ours "our own" like drawers in big cabinets, a larger table, bbq mount on the trailer, tool box on the bumper, back up lights and other things to make it easier to go a month on the road. All in all we love our CreekSide and haven't see anything I'd rather have.

You might check out the new Jayco Hummingbird. It has all fiberglass top.

I have seen soooo few Bigfoot trailers. Like 2.

Did you look at an Escape 19 or 21? Although they are expensive, you are paying in Canadian dollars so the exchange rate helps quite a bit right now. The 19' compares almost directly in size with what you have now, although with less floor space because I believe yours has a slideout.

I have a Bigfoot TT and I am very satisfied with it.The cabinets are all oak with no particle board and best of all no roof leaks.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Was thinking that the casita and scamp might be on the small side. We are comfortable in the size KZ we have but dont want to go any smaller.

when I was looking at small FG TTs, didn't like the baths on scamps. went to the casita factory and found one I liked, 16 ft IIRC, rear dinette that could be made up into a bed and left that way, had a small side table and two rotating chairs. to get a tall enough closet you had to get the roof AC as the lower one took up the bottom of the closet.

If you have about $50K to spend, go to Hohenwald, TN and look at Olivers. Very very nice.

Our first TT was a 1999 17 ft. Casita that we kept for 5 years. While it was OK I don't think it was any better than our 2007 KZ Spree that we just traded in for a new KZ Spree. The Casita was small and the insulation was marginal and we had some issues with rivets in the bathroom popping loose. We also had a problem with the front finish which Casita finally admitted that they had a top shell mold problem at the time ours was built. I am sure they have made improvements since then but after two tire blowouts on back to back days I decided no more single axle trailers for us plus wanted a real bathroom and a bed that was open on both sides.
