hello TC-friends,
in life things changes....and now we changed our rig. I want to tell you: kids are growing, daughter with her 19 years prefers to do holidays together with her friends, - same happens to our son, who makes his own "agenda". So, more and more my wife and me will travel alone, sometimes with kids, but less and less often.
So we decided to change to a smaller rig, which would produce less problems here in small european villages and parking slots.......
With tears in the eyes we sold our Dodge Ram and our nice Adventurer 810WS, which we used during 8 years. So, during all these years our kids were "growing up" in the camper ๐Ÿ™‚
Our new truck is a Nissan Frontier (here called "Navara", because it is produced in Spain). It's a 2007 model with 171HP Diesel engine, and very important: conforming to european emmission standards. The TC (made in 2001) is manufactured by the Italian "TrendUP" Company: TrendUp-Camper .
The great advantage is that the cabin consists 100% of glass fiber walls, so we get a very good isolation coefficient and we must not worry about rotten wood.......
All in all we are very happy, because we feel very cosy inside the camper. Important for us was a wet WC + shower room.
Here are some photos, hope you like them.

BTW: Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all !! ๐Ÿ™‚

(and yes, we are able to bent so much to use the toilet-... ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ )

next projects (just i work): to take away the colored dots, to paint the blue corners into grey, to change the cushions, to install nice sound equipment and so far....

It's a well thought out little TC. Plan your trips for the limited storage and onboard facilities, everything should be great.
Hope it serves you well.

European design many times outclasses the US. I like your camper; leave the dots. Is that real wood? here in the states, we have vinyl wood grain adhered to some wood, YUK!!!!

Very cool looking camper/truck combo. I really like the simplicity of it. You'll turn heads from people looking at those dots when you're travelling down the road. Have fun with your rig as I know you will.

Merry Christmas to all.

I guess they forgot to tell you that such a small truck "can't" handle a TC. ๐Ÿ˜‰ LOL. Looks just fine. Do you know the weight of your new-to-you TC? We need some of those over on this side of the pond!

Hi Felix,

Welcome back to the world of the small camper. Also welcome to being able to park in our European car parks, not worry about exact interpretation of those "3,5 tonne" limit signs in the centre of European cities or the low emission zones. And welcome to getting 9 litres/100km. I know your older compact pickups wouldn't do that, but I suspect that D40 Navara can achieve those fuel consumption figures - our Ranger with similar modern turbo diesel does.

Happy Christmas from Sally and I.

thanks at all for the comments.
Yes, most dots are already removed, remaining some light spots, but not really dramatic.
@Wayne: ok, I will do ๐Ÿ˜‰

flaxi, you should post photos of your new TC on the Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here. Include the link.

With the exception of the OP photo post text, most post made by others are deleted after a while, with the objective being to have a thread with photos of TCs and a minimum of discussions.

After visiting the site, I am overall impressed with the construction. The only thing I am not impressed with are the jacks and poka dots. I might get used to the jacks, but the dots would have to go.

If you decide to remove the dots, you may want to do so before the TC discolors (color fade). Wait too long, and you probably have shadows where the dots were. I removed my decals and had the shadows, but my decals had been on the TC for over 14 years.

Vary handsome camper/truck combo.

Often our TCs seem mismatched with a bulbous camper hanging on a truck wallowing down the road. I have to admit that my Avion sometimes looks like that to me. I have admired the Alaskan with the top that drops down as well as campers such as the Hallmark low profile and pop up truck campers. They seem better suited to the overall shape of the TC.

By no means is this a criticism of anyone's truck camper. I know that larger campers have more comfort, and that's important to many people...a number of whom have physical issues. So, to each their own.

I went to the Trend Up website which is in Italian, and it appeared that the camper sells new for around Euro 29,000. That's almost $40,000. Unless that includes the vehicle, thats a lot of coin for such a tight little camper.

But, I suppose a combo like this is perfect for Europe. We have long wanted to take a truck camper tour in Europe and i would think this would be possible to rent as well?

Congratulations on a great find.

I like it... less space to heat, less fuel to drive, and you say... it fits!... and it has a good bed and bathroom. The essentials.

Our truck camper is 11 years old... we have never used thr stove burners yet... and tried the oven once. We use the microwave and the refridgerator all the time. There are things I'd leave out...

Janet and I hope you enjoy the holidays
